What tire for the best price
Putting a lift on my truck Monday, got new wheels in (Moto Metal 951). I am currently looking for new tires, im on a budget of around $700 the size has to be 285/75/16, suggest some tires for me! And where to find them, mostly i order from my local Big O Tires shop, but i would like to see if i can find a better deal. Thanks!

Big O has some pretty nice tires for cheap.
I like BFGs white wall style tires, both ATs and MTs
Federal Couragias have a super cool looking tread design IMO
If your on a smaller budget, Treadwright is very reputable and has some good lookin tires
I like the red lettering on General Grabbers extreme traction (I think thats what theyre called)
Theres litterally thousands of tires out there for a 16 inch rim! All you gotta do is look. Iv been tire shopping for a while now and it all just depends on what you like and what your budeget is.

i was going to mention treadwright as well, they are retreads but just look at the price. around $100 a tire plus shipping.

you don't need retreads. $700 is plenty to get brand new ATs. just shop around.
You have $175 per tire, with taxes you have like $165. Get them local to save on shipping.
Heres some "cheaper" tire options, not bad tires, just cheaper.
General Grabber AT2 (Tread just like BFG ATs AND DEFIANTLY IN YOUR BUDGET)
Yokohama Geolander ATS
Firestone Destination AT (I RECOMMEND THESE HIGHLY IF YOU CAN GET THEM AT PRICE)
And of course look at craigslist, you never know.

I bought mine from discount tire, mainly because of the free shipping. I got the goelander at's. 265/16's were 520 shipped when I bought them

There is nothing wrong with retreads if you wanna save some money. Put the $300 youll save into something else like a brush guard.
I am going to call them when I have a little moolah saved up and ask if you can special order. I am wanting the BFG style sidewall with the raised white letters and the Howler tread. I like tires that will talk to me.
And also, General Grabber AT2s costs bascially the same as BFGs AT

kevin is right that you can get a very nice set of new tires for $700 but no harm mentioning a much cheaper option, which I'd say is as good as any deal on craigslist.

I went on craiglist and bought some used tires for now, (305/70/16 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R) so i can save up for a nice set of mud terrain tires. I am looking at the 285/75/16 Mud Claw tires, i am in real good with my local big O so i can get killer deals. with tax, installation, balance, free rotations, and flat repair, i ended up getting quoted $775.00 and went ahead and locked in the price.
