Pirelli Scorpion A/T

Pirelli Scorpion A/T
My buddy is buying a ranger this week. He's checked it out already and has already made a deal with the seller. It's an 02, 4x4, flareside.
Anyway, two of the tires are almost bald, so he is planning on getting a new set all around. He wants to get the Pirelli Scorpion A/T. I told him I hadn't seen too many people with them, so I didn't know how they perform. But has anyone had them to give me an idea how they perform, both on and off road?
I know a lot of people will probably say to just get the BFG A/T, but he wants to be a little different, so I just want to know if anyone's ever had these tires.
BTW here's a link to see what they look like:

Thanks for any input!

The Scorpion A/T's are a great tire. Here is a story:
My sister joined the Navy and went to Puerto Rico. She wanted a Geo Tracker. We found her one and we went completely through it and made it brand new again, including tires. Pirelli Scorpion A/T's were the choice. They were meaty, looked good, had a strong sidewall, and were a very nicely rated tire.
She went on the beach, rocks, highway, dirt roads, city streets and through hurricanes with those things, and we all went to visit her about a year and a half later, and around 50,000 miles later and they were still in tip-top shape.
Granted, she took care of them very well -- but I would still recommend them to anyone.
I was thinking about them, but IIRC, they didn't have them in my size.
I say go for it.

I've always thought the Scorpions were crap.....Maybe it was just the 10 ply's
Well anyways, here's why. There was a Recall on Excusions a year or so ago, and
I have seen so many people coming back complaining about vibrations and how bad they ride.... so since then I've never cared much for them.
