New wheels

So my BFG all terrains finally gave out on me after about 4 years. They're cracking and my front left one has gone flat. So it looks like this weekend I'll be getting some new tires and figured it was time to get some wheels as well.

I'm looking at the Mickey Thompson classic locks. I want a 15 inch rim but I'm not sure what backspacing to go with... Or maybe its the offset. I understand the lower the backspace number the more the wheels will stick out, but where does the offset come in?

And just to make sure the bolt pattern is 5x4.5 for the rangers right?

It's an 01 edge 4x4. Not sure if that makes a difference

Dont worry about the offset. The rim size kinda depends on what tire size ya gonna run. The most used are 15x8 with between 3.75 and 4. bs. I think the stock rims are 4.5bs

Ok, most rims I have looked at for 15 inch have been 3.75 or 3.25 backspacing. Any idea how far they would stick out compared to stock? I'm still running the 16 inch tear drops

depends on your tires... i run 15x10 with 4bs (i think) and 33x12.5 they stick out about an inch

offset is a different way to measure bs, but offset changes depending on rim size where as back space does not... back space is a much better number for if the rim will fit on your truck

Cool. Thanks for the info. I'm looking at either KM2's or Toyo mud terrians for tires. I've had BFG's before and they seem to last forever but the only Toyo's ive had experience with are the commercial style on my work truck. Has anyone has experice with toyo's mud terrain?

Do I need to worry about a 15 inch rim rubbing on anything? Hopefully I won't have to grind anything down to get them to fit...
