Finally scraped up enough extra to get some new tires for the '99 today. Ended up going with a set of 265/75R16 Goodyear Authority's. Got a great deal, went to Wally World and only had 2 cars ahead of me, they told me I would be done in an hour to hour and a half max.......2 hours later my truck is finally in the shop and off the ground, then sat as the only vehicle in there for almost an hour with no one apparently in the shop. By the end I was there a bit over 3-1/2 hours. Grrrr. But, due to the wait, I got a 10% discount on all 4 tires, new valve stems and lifetime balancing, plus they threw in free road hazard on all 4 tires. Total out of pocket = $673

Had some driving to do and put a good 100 miles on them this evening, first impressions are good. They look great, nice and meaty with some deep tread, the 265/75's are what size should have been put on from the factory. Tires ride very good for being fairly aggressive tread, truck does not wander, corners good, and the tires are suprisingly much quieter than the tread looks like they would be. I would say a hair louder than BFG AT KO's, but very acceptable. Overall they ride really nice and look great on the truck, will provide updates after I get some miles on them and the honeymoon starts to wear off.

 

Good thing they gave you that discount. I would have raised hell otherwise. Authorities are good tires.

 

i have to say i have had those tires on my truck for 50000 miles now and they still have 8/32nds left the only thing is rotate them every 3000 or they cup pretty bad
