cragar soft 8s 15x10 with 32x11.5xr15?

I am new here.. just wanting to start modding my new ranger. Im going to order a 3" summit body lift soon and was wondering if cragar softs 8s 15x 10 with bf goodrich mud terrain 32x11.50x15r would fit on my truck after the lift or even look good thanks for the advice!

Stay with 8" rims for that 11.5 tire. Theory is to help better seat the bead.

I suggest 31's for a 3"BL on a coil spring truck. Most coil-spring guys toss on 32's when they've got lift springs or a spring spacer along with a BL.

First and foremost, really really consider swapping to at least a 4.10 gearing axle at bare minimum. I suggest swapping in 4.56 for that 100hp motor to move the truck along on 32's. That 2.5L engine w/ the manual and 3.73 with even just 30's is a bear and a half. Can't even get out of it's own way. I used to drive one every day. The thing was borderline dangerous at on-ramps and pulling onto streets.

My opinion, SLAM THAT BIATCH!!! lol.

You're not gonna find many options that'll actually fit height wise that are wider. Both measurements are at play and taken into account on what will comfortably fit. You gotta remember you're not a 4x4 and you're not a 2wd Edge/Sport truck (4x4 suspension). You've gotta add 3" to run what a stock 4x4 does. Hence 31's being a good tire choice. 31x10.50 specifically. Still considerably wider than the like 215/70's you're running now. You'll get a wider stance with 15x8's. The outside of the tire will be past the fender or right at it if the wheels have a standard backspace(offset) as other 8" rims (3.625-4" BS).

If my quick numbers are correct, 8" rims and 10.50 tires will stick out approx 1.5"-2" farther out than your stock 15x7 rims, depending on new wheel backspace.

It's a dog now.... don't put tires on it til you've got the dough to gear it right. That's about the only engine I highly highly suggest gearing when bigger tires go on. All the other engines have enough power to overcome decent changes in tire diameter.

4.10's would be fine with 32's but if you want to eventually run bigger tires get 4.56's.

I would run stock rims until you get more lift or order some 2" lift coils and then bump the 32's up to 33's and run those.

I would post pictures since I had the exact same truck as you but photobucket is being stupid.

It depends how much a shop will do the gears for. The install is the expensive part. If you had 5" of lift 33's would fit with the 15x10's. And I would defiantly get 4.56's for that. For everything minus the tires your probably looking at just shy of $1,000 (gears, install, body lift, spacers and rims).

so i could probably do 3" body lift 2" add a leaf and 2" lift coils for 5" of lift? i would need wheel spacers right? or i could i run those with out spacers?

No you don't need spacers. And you can either do AAL or shackles in the rear.

Not to back talk ya, Adam... But I forget what motor you had in yours??

I guess I don't get the logic of 4.56 being the right gear choice for 33's with such an under powered engine like the 2.5L Lima. 4.56 seems to be the gear of choice for 33's on the 4x4's with 4.0....we're talking double the power with the same gear. Take into account the added weight of the tire, I'd much rather prefer 4.88 for a 2.5 on 33's for daily duty. Just driveability wise, deeper is the way to go. There's a reason you see tons of yota 4cyl's on 35's and 5.29's...getting low end grunt with a power lacking powerplant. Same logic applies here.

OP, Adam's a knowledgeable guy...he did have your twin truck. And if I recall, I jokingly half seriously wanted to buy it off him back in the day...to slam it. I don't know why this gear choice question irks me so much to blahblahblah like I just did! lol.

so id have to move it to a 4.88? what would be the best tires for those wheels? or should i bump it up to a 16x10? and then im going to have to get a reece hitch for my boat with the body lift.. the list just keeps getting longer i wish i didnt hate the look of my truck stock lol

I would not get a 10" wide wheel. just looks too wide, plus with that 2.5 i wouldn't want to stick too much under there.

I had the 2.5 lima as well. When I said exact same it was the exact same. lol I thought he stole my picture.

The 4.56's put it almost back to stock gearing with 33's. 4.88's are almost too deep for that because its mostly going to be a street truck. I had 4.10's and it was unbearable so 4.56's would be perfect. 3.73's were a dog with 33's though.

Here are some pics for reference. I have probably posted a ton on here in the past if you look at my old threads.

Stock

Here are 33x12.5x15 Cooper Discoverer STT's on stock rims. This was about 2" of lift.

This is the same tires 33x12.5x15 Cooper Discoverer STT's on stock rims with 5" lift.

Again same tires, and 5" of lift with 15x10 Crager Soft 8's.

Yes it did loading it on off a dock but we couldn't get it back in out on the trail so I went and got a trailer to pick it up.

Yeah you will be fine. If you can get 4.56's in it and it will be even better.
