265/70R16 vs. 265/75R16. Pics???

MADE MY DECISION!!!
I did it! I finally pulled the trigger. As most of you could probably tell, I REALLY wanted the smaller 265/70/16 to help with power, gas mileage, ride quality (D rating instead of E) and to maintain a more “factory” look on the stock wheels. After reading all of your comments and seeing each tire mounted on my Ranger, I went with the larger LT265/75R16/E RWL - BFG All-Terrain T/A KO. I'd like to thank you all for your information, suggestions, and opinions. I’m including a picture but I plan to take a few “glamour shots” when the weather gets better and I have time to clean it. For now, I’m really enjoying the new treads and I’m very happy with my decision. Thanks again!

FYI - I do have a 1" torsion twist in the front. Just for reference

Yeah I was really hesitant to twist the torsion bars because I did it on a previous Ranger and hated the ride. But this time I did some research and a little engineering and installed 1/2" spacers on my front shocks. It rides awesome!

The shocks don't determine the lift, the torsion bars do. My 1/2" spacer just corrects the shock length after twisting the torsion bars to help with the ride quality. For every 1/2" that the shock travels, the wheel travels about an inch. Hope this makes sense. By the way, for anyones else looking to add a shock spacer, I would not recommend using a spacer any larger than 1/2". The shocks act as limiting straps so if you use spacers larger than 1/2" the wheels can drop out too far and cause damage to CV joints and ball joints.

Considering that the OEM tires were a 4-ply tread and these are a 10-ply tread, the ride isn't bad at all. I do notice a small difference but not as much as I was expecting.

Attachment 96805[Just curious, were you able to just put the 265/75r/16 tires on without adjusting the torsion bars or adding a lift. I have a 2011 FX4 but it doesn't seem to have the same lift from the factory as your truck. Thanks B. ]
