Wheel bearings and ball joints 94 Ranger 4x4

Hey everyone. I drive a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4. I recently changed the tires on the front end and the shop called me before they did the alignment saying that it could not be on a warranty when its done because the front lower ball joints and the wheel bearings were bad. They wanted 800 to change them, so I figured I could try myself. I changed my own bearings on my 96 Explorer 2wd but its a completley different ball game with a 4wd. Also I dont even know which parts to get (Dana 35 or 28) because my ranger has a "Hybrid Axle" (Dana 35 housing with 28 guts) Any tips-tricks would be much appriciated!!!!
