Just put the semi-metallic pads all the way around the wifes expo. 75% less dust than stock pads. Also, have no chirping or squealing since these pads were put on.

The ceramics people run are a better pad, but if they are cold, especially in the winter, they don't have the effectiveness that the semi-metallics have. But once they warm up, look out!

try to spring for a "premium" solid rotor if you can. (their usually last long and less prone to warping) and if you want less dust and a bit quicker stop then get the ceramics.
Slotted, drilled and the such are designed to reduce break fade, that isnt a problem with preformance rotors and pads, but if it is cheaper and you are towing/hauling, racing conditions to go with slotted.
