SkyJacker Leaf Springs Not Bolting Up?

I'm working on bolting up a pair of new 6" leaf springs and the front hanger bolt isn't fitting right. I think I'll have to go and pick up a 5/8 bolt? Anybody else have this issue? I didn't read where anybody else had this problem, everybody else said it fit right up. I hope I made sense. Thanks

5/8th sounds right. Stock on the newer trucks the front hanger bolt is larger than the rear, and won't fit the skyjacker pack. On the skyjacker springs front and rear bolts are the same size, whatever diameter the rear shackle bolt is stock.

If you are going blockless and you didn't already get ubolts grab them also, the threads won't go down far enough on the stock u bolts.

I didn't have that problem on my 03 but remember reading about 04+ being different.

Yeah, its different, i ran into the same problem with my 06 when i installed the leafs. And for the U-Bolts i just used some washers and as spacers and grinded down the ubolts so my socket could reach.

I just haven't read where the 04+ are different so when I found out the bolts wouldn't work I thought they might have sent me the wrong leaf packs. They're all bolted up now. Thanks

I could care less if you think they're bolted up or not, but to be nice they've already been posted in my other thread in project logs.

You know, it's like 25 bucks to get a full u-bolt set made up, with hardware at more or less any tractor trailer place? Just me, but I don't really like re-using u-bolts, it's cheap insurance to just get new ones made.

I had the exact same issue. went to a Ford dealership and bought a leaf spring bolt for a 2003... cant remember the size, but I think it was smaller.

Thanks 08XLT4x4, I have a bolt that fits in fairly well. It's a tad loose compared to the stock one. I might switch it out for a 2003 leaf spring bolt. Thanks for the advice.
