rear sway bars

have read all threads i could find on here about install b2 stock rear sway bars on ranger, all say it will fit! however, after buying set from 86 model b2 in j/y,have found that they are too wide to connect to frame links and do not match curve of azle. my truck is 2002 edge supercab. what did i do wrong????

I wish I could say I knew, but I do know that EDGEs came from the factory with a rear sway bar if they were a regular cab in a certain year. Can't remember what year though, very sorry. Hellwig also makes an aftermarket rear sway bar, I think you can find it on 4wp

For several years, rear sway bars have been factory installed on all regular cab Rangers with raised suspension including Edges, Trailheads and 4x4s. Before that, they were also standard or optional on other Ranger models. I have a 2000 bar on my 2003. I have no idea if any Bronco II rear bar will fit a Ranger - from your experience, it sounds like the answer is probably no.

Just wondering but you might have confused the B2 with a mazda B-series pick-up. I believe they have the same exact frame as our rangers and therefore the rear sways would swap over. I believe the B-series trucks all came stock with rear sways, but i could be wrong.

i like it for the price i paid, found it on clearance on a parts website not sure which site it was though...definitly reduced some body roll in the rear. I probably would have noticed an even bigger difference if i didnt have the JD traction bars on first. Those bars really made the rear end solid and bite through hard turns.

well...im gunna take a guess and say the bronco 2 has a 7.5" rear while urs has an 8.8. there may be where the problem is.

okay...a Bronco II is same as an 83-92, just shorter...a Bronco II rear bar will work on a 7.5" ranger, and an 8.8 with a bit of work....they talk about it on RPS all the time...

rear sway bars

i do not mean to beat thit thread to death ,but i need to clear up my statment about b2 sway bar for rear-i found out that the bar i toke from j/y was not from b2 but from full size bronco oh well; now
all i have to do is install correct bars from b2{guy at j/y let me exchange my brain fart for correct sway bars}will install tommorrow. all looks good for correct install. if all goes well, then we will all know that this will install on edge ext cab . these bars measured 1 inch in diameter, which should work well.

lee
well tomorrow came and i installed b2 rear sway bar on ext cab edge-fit great and works great as well, so to those wondering about this install-go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -donor truck was late model b2 4wd -88 maybe
not sure on year but it had 2.9 v6
