sure thing. keep searchin, you will find my thread on here and all my thoughts on 14" coils with RCD shocks.
i dont understand why anyone would even want 14" coils on the RCD bils. you would hafta compress them so far to get them on you risk coil bind at full compression. again, keep searchin and you will find the thread with all the specs on the shocks and coils, then you can compare for yourself and figure out what coils will work and what coils wont

My head is really starting to hurt just thinking about all the details. Compensating for the 1/2" mounting hole from rcd for the bilstien with 5/8" holes for a fox2.0, 6.5" vs 8.5" of travel, 12" spring vs. a 14" spring, 650lb rate vs 750lb rate, then you've gotta figure in the shock valving, nitrogen pressure, figuring out what size limit strap you need, getting the front end weight right-wheel/tire/lca/brake assembly weight.

FWIW....One of the guys on explorerforums.com with a SportTrac said he had excellent results with the 6.5" 2.0with 800lb hypertech coils.
I've gotta get my suspension taken care of....like yesterday.
So I'm thinking 6.5" Fox 2.0's with the resevoir, 750lb 12" hypercoils for the pass side and 800lb 12" hypercoils for the dr side to take care of the front. Maybe jump the Nitrogen up to 250 psi.
My big bad tube bumper is going back on so I have to account for that and all the other junk on my truck. After hours and hours of reading I think it's a good combo for my truck.
Then once I get all that done I'll have to measure up for limit straps.
Anyone have the specs on the 5100's for the rear that came with the RCD? I"ve got the stock 4wd pack, RCD AAL, and the ginormous RCD shackle. Both of my rear shocks are junk/blown. Should I just go with the ones from RCD or is there a better alternative?

Initially, my only concern with the 8.5" was that the spring might be too loose if the LCA was fully lowered. I was planing on fixing this by straping the LCA down with limit straps. This would have held in the spring and have stopped the spring from moving around as well as limiting the down travel, which is more important if you decide to go with 6.5" shock. When using the 8.5" C/O you will need to do a little modificiations to the upper and lower bracket bracket. The modifications are not that bad. You probably do not need to do these modifications if you decide to use the 6.5" C/O.

They're bad really?! I love mine! They do the trick with ease! I would say get another set of the 5100's... They may have upgraded the technology since you first got yours, thus making them a better shock (Hope that makes sense and doesn't make me sound dumb haha)
I didn't even think about the ranger lean when I thought about spring rates... I was gonna order the springs this weekend actually... 2-750lb hypercoils... But after reading what you said, maybe I should run a 800lb on the drivers side and a 750lb on the passenger side? I'll probably be cranking them almost all the way down on the bilstein coil-over too...

I'd look into a rebuildable shock (I'm still thinking 7100 bilsteins with res). I think there's a fox and racerunner option for the rear as well.

I was driving on a really bumpy rural road on a rainy day and the rear end wanted to kick out like no other haha. It sucked!
The 7100's are what I was actually leaning towards. I just didn't know if they could be mounted inverted or whatever. I see all the work rwenzing had to do to mount his res's and wonder if it's even worth the effort. Especially considering what I said about the age and abuse taken by the 5100's.
Anywho, anyone got the specs on the 5100 that came with the RCD kit?

Yeah the 7100's thing is crazy how Bob had to configure them. IIRC, he removed the bed and something about modifying the spare tire carrier(which is useless on my truck). lol
worse comes to worse I can call up RCD I suppose.
