Icon4 Need Some Expert Technical Advice from ya'll

Alright, Well some of you know me and know what I am planning on doing with my truck.. Some of you have givin me some pointers. Well, I have hears soooo many different stories, my head is spinning.

My Truck: 2000 Ranger XLT 4X4 4.0 Auto, 3.73s 8.8

THese are the mods i spent over 6 g's on:

3" PA body lift
4" SL SUspension lift
35" BFG Mudd Terrains
15" Procomp wheels
New driveshaft
Cattle gaurd
roll bar
Gibson Exhaust
aFe Stage 2 Intake system

My question:
Is this going to Cause any serious issues with my truck. ie: drivetrain, tranny, engine, etc. ANYTHING that i need to know before doing this? I have a friend back home that has a lifted jeep, says that the stock gears will be fine with the 35s. Honestly I have NO idea. Im pretty sure its got 3.73s in it. And if I have to get gears, What gears do i need to get. Not just the ratio, but everything! I have no idea, im new to all this. Please help me out.

PM me if you like. Thanks!

You NEED to get 4.56 gears. I'll put up the link in a second.

Gears: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Install Kit: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...14+4294774656+

i will tell you from Experience that the 3.73 gears will SUCK.....i have the same engine and have ran 35's on the 3.73 gears and it really does suck.....your friend (sorry to say) is clueless.....you will burn up your tranny in no time......the 30 miles i drove on mine cause the tranny temps to get up there......

if anyone tells you that the 3.73 gears are good for the 35's tell them to Jog-On........

Ok I just put the links in my post up above. Its gonna come out to around 300 bucks but that will be cheaper then replacing your tranny a couple thousand miles down the road.

he will HAVE to have front and rear gears since he has a 4wd Ranger.....

gear and install kits should run about $500 or so for both front and rear........

that isn't a bad price and that is what you need, but i wouldn't recommend buying parts from 4 Wheel Parts....i have had some issues with them over and over....i wont buy from them again.....

if you do get that from 4 Wheel Parts, be prepaired to wait to get them....

4.56 gears all the way if you plan on driving this truck with the 35's....4.88's are too much gear for 35" tires....

i would call Summit and see if they will price match 4 Wheel Parts.....they will if it is an advertised price on a part that they carry.......Summit will treat you right...

if you have never installed gears before, and know someone who knows how, then get them to help you. Gears are not something that if you mess them up it will be an easy/cheap fix......if you have the mesh, backlash, and other precise measurements wrong, you will have to buy new gears to replace the broke gears that you tried to put in...

Im thinkin i may just take the truck to a shop to get the gears done. They seem to be to touchy for me to mess with.

Im thinkin the 4.56s should be good for my DD. Besides, ive already added around 75-100 horses so it should be good. Im not wanting to race with her. Just be able to get in and out of anything that i come across. And anything that looks inviting. lol.
