I think that's why they're there. I think they support front to back movement with the brackets being that big

Those limit straps are 20" eyelet to eyelet. The same size strap that comes with the superlift kit!!! It looks like a perfect size to me.....

Anyway, Once i do this, ill probably fab myself up some support brackets and weld them on to the Lower crossmember. And install those bars for extra support. Now Ill call up RCD later on when im about to do this and see just how much those rods cost, if they arent too much, ill buy them but knowing RCD, they might be way over priced!!!

When did Superlift start including limit straps? I'm not saying they won't work, they're just longer than they need to be. Shoot my limit straps are 10" and I thought they were plenty long.

If Superlift really includes those with their kit then I'm curious to see how they mount them.

Yah they come with the kits now.. On my buddy's 98 we did they came with it and they come with their own bracketry.. We didn't put them on though...

I don't get why you'd buy the SL kit and go coil over... By the time you finish with the brackets, coil overs and coils (plus the superlift kit) you're lookin at the price of the RCD from the start..

With the RCD kit you are kinda limited to the type of coilovers you can use. With what im doing is getting the brackets(under 200 bucks) and the coils and struts I WANT. Not the crappy ones RCD gives you. Plus Im not about to remove my damn superlift to install an RCD kit.... Id just rather buy the parts and do the swap. To each there own i guess, you dont have to like it, i just wanted to keep my superlift kit and remove my torsion bars!! My hybrid lift!

I'm not doggin it man... Not at all.. I was just thinkin for the money, just run RCD.. I mean had I known how the RCD would have turned out, I would have sold the stock coil overs and ran fox with 750lb hypercoils from the start... But you live and learn... I just wish they made kits right from the factory!

yea but the amount of work that id have to do just to remove my superlift and install a RCD kit. The price to pay for the coilover swap seems like the more logical choice at the moment. I understand where you are coming from. It would be sooo much different if i didnt install a superlift on my truck yet and i wanted to do the RCD coilover swap at the same time, THEN the RCD kit would be the more logical choice at that moment in time.

make your own, one of mine has a nice dent in it and they have really thin walls.. make some on your own it cant be hard at all. hell once i get home i'll be making my own out of some thicker walled tubing

i have the Fox coil overs on my truck

there looks like it would have a MINOR rubbing issue on the cv boot but they should take it, it clears the boot barely and im sure in the cycle of the suspension it rubs... you'll have to let me know i dont plan on fixing the front drive line lol

who knows, the Explorer and newer rangers may have a different size boot. the stock ones may even be a different size then my advance ones

as far as whats been said so far about the radius arms.. i would definately invest in some if i were you.. without them there would be no front to rear support for the crossmember.. and with the drop brackets on there i would think it would be very important to have them..

my $.02
radius arms?
its a 2000...

like he said, the bilsteins are crap IMO
i broke one and when i took the second one off to swap the coil it was about to break too..

and your actually looking at more by going with RCD at first because then you have to buy the coils at like 130, then the new coil overs yada yada

when you make the radious arms bend them a little so you have more clearance

20" could work just fine depending on where the mounts are located.

A couple of things to think about though: (1) Over time, a 20" strap will stretch twice as much as a 10". Do you plan to incorporate an adjuster? (2) Where does all that strap go when the suspension bottoms? I have visions of it flopping against the tire or worse.

BTW, I've never seen an unmodified Superlift with limit straps. Is that a customer add-on or a change that Superlift made to its product recently?

off topic kinda but.....Isnt a good rule of thumb. Every 10 inch of limit strap leave room for 1 inch of stretch?

Those aren't radius arms. They're bracket supports
