Yes, they were Doetsch. I'm getting Fabtech replacements (which will be for sale come next spring when I do the SAS, lol.
Well, I ordered everything else I need and just about all of it should arrive next Wednesday. I'll take apart what I've got and get ready in the meantime. I'm getting new rotors just for giggles (a friend with a repair shop is selling me a set he's had in stock for uber-cheap) and I found the caliper bracket new for $15.95 at PartsAmerica online, so I don't need to hit the junkyards. I'll get wheel bearings and seals locally.
I ordered some rear drums and shoes while I'm at it -- should be in pretty good shape all around when I hit the trail next.

Okay, Don, maybe tomorrow. I just got it back together, drove it around, aligned the toe-in, and cleaned up outside. Drives nice and I'll be taking it to work tomorrow.
I remounted the repaired traction bars and all is well there also.
I'll do the rear brakes and maybe the pinion seal tomorrow night. I checked the diff oil level and it's not visibly down so it must be a slow leak. I can see any drippage now that I have the traction bars on and the pinion shaft isn't getting thrashed. I may let the seal go until after the meet.
Nice to have my truck back!!! It's been a week without XM radio, my MP3 player through the stereo, my subwoofer, etc. etc. I like my "creature comforts", lol!

It's hard to say just what contributes. Stock 4x2 spindles seldom see 35's, or the more than an inch extra backspacing, or my driving...
Your tire size is pretty modest, Jared. Jumping any truck without equipment specifically designed for it is an "iffy" proposition. And I'm exhibit "A", lol...

In a 4x2 IFS Ranger, it's the cast iron or steel piece that goes between the upper and lower control arms in the front. It has an "axle" sticking out of it that the combination brake rotor/hub fits on. The spindle is attached to the upper and lower arms with ball joints.
In a 4x4 IFS Ranger, the spindle is in the same location and is also cast iron or steel, but has a hole in to allow the axle from the front diff to pass through to the hub assembly. A bearing assembly is usually fastened to it as well for that axle.
There are a few cast aluminum designs out there as well, but not factory on any Rangers that I know of.
