djm 2/3 lowering kit
I ordered my kit yesterday and it well be here this week. is there any thing i should be surprised about with putting on the kit. this is my Daily driver and i finally had it with stock suspension. i know how to work on car since i have my nice day driver/track car running high 10s. this is my first time working on a truck. also what are the best places to put the jack stands when doing the drop kit. and any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah after you get the 2/3 on there your going to want to do 5/7. But thats fine. Just be sure to get everything with some penetrating oil a day in advance. Just think when you go to do the 5/7 in like a month (ha ha ha) you can throw an explorer axle and get a new set of gears with a LSD and it will look stock. I'm a huge fan of the explorer axle, I got one under my truck and love it.

'cause the 4/5 replaces the front control arms, correcting suspension geometry and getting back some suspension travel. Also you go back to the stock length shackle in the back, so the over all effect is that you ride like stock, just way lower. And BTW, before the roll pan, I pulled trailers with a 4/5 regularly. Just get some air shocks or overload bags to level it out.

The lower control arms are ungodly huge compared to the djm tubular arms and once the coils settle you will have to trim your bumpstops because your frame will be sitting on them causing a horrible ride. Even with them trimmed you will still smack your arms against the frame on a good bump.

Nic, remember to take pleanty of pics of the install. I have my 4/5 kit and will be installing before the end of the year. good luck.
Mark or John, you guys are suggesting air shocks which I agree since I will be towing too. Do you guys have any specific brand/part number on hand that you could suggest?
