try FOA 6” so far mine have held up perfectly fine with my crazy driving for the past six months. There a little longer than needed if you just have no lift or just a torsion bar lift.

A quick google search of the part numbers will bring up many results. I bought everything from Kartek Offroad

How's everyone adjusting height with coilovers

I have accumulated all the necessary parts. I purchased a set of ME00stepside brackets from a member who never got around to install and sold his truck. I have Fox2.0 emulsion shocks witj eyelet extensions and hypercoil 2.5 650lb springs. Downsouth motorsports says regular spanner wrench will not work due to the spring rate with out causing harm to the preload nut. My question is how has everyone adjusted the heights of their trucks. Are people compressing spring and then installing or are they adjusting them after mounting. I also have superlift 4" lift installed. I am trying to add around 2" to match my 6"Skyjacker leaf lift. Thanks.

Wondering if these are still available, been up all night making a complete list of things to buy to make this conversion happen. This is also my first post, so I hope I did this correctly.

Send an email to ME00stepside, he is about to send out a set of these so you'll have to wait for the next batch.

Is there a trick to swapping out these eyelets? I figured they were threaded in with loctite, heated them up but it ends up just turning the shaft in the soft jaws when trying to unscrew the eyelet.

Started my install and am getting stuck. Trying to get the lower eyelet lined up and it is proving difficult trying to compress the shock (spring nuts are at the top of the shock) and line everything up. The control is as far down as I can get it with the sway bar disconnected. Im using the Fox shock FOX-980-02-000 with extended eyelets. What am I doing wrong?

Looks like you're close. Can you push the LCA down any further?

The CV axle and tie-rods will also limit how much you can droop the control arms. There's not much else you can do if you can't force the control arm down further with those two items hooked up. Either the shock gets compressed and you find a way to keep it from extending so you have enough time to put the bolt through the eyelet, or you pull the cv axles and disconnect the tie-rod so you can get more downward swing from the lower control arm.

That's what I am thinking is next unless I get another pair of hands to hold it up. I'm thinking I will have to shove some sort of a shim in there to get it lined up. I can compress the shock but holding it there is difficult as there is some pressure behind it.

I just thought about this, but you mentioned your shock part number, which is the correct size, but what about your springs? Did you get 10" or 12" springs? Where you meantime that the adjustment but is all the way at the top of the shock, it seems like you got 12", which would be a problem.

It's a 10 inch spring.

Made this a little easier by printing a tool to hold the eyelet in place without needing another pair of hands.

FYI, I'm no longer selling these. They have become too much of a headache for me, between shops and suppliers being backed up and many impatient customers, so I have decided that it's not something I want to deal with anymore.
Thank you for all who supported me over the last ten years, and I hope that everyone was ultimately happy with their conversions, but that's the end of the line for me.

Thank you for stepping up to the plate and making these available years and years ago. I'm honestly surprised you held on this long, but I'm glad you did. I definitely understand your reasoning as I've seen the same complaints from many other small time producers. Best of luck in your future endeavors!

Still not sure how a stock height ranger is using extended eyelets. Jacked the control arm up and before it barely makes contact with the bump stop there is only about an inch of travel left in the shock before it bottoms out. Doubled checked my order for the coilovers, they are the correct part number. This would surely create a bone jarring ride or even damage the shocks.

Edit: Put the shorter eyelets back on, there is just enough clearance with the CV shaft and boots. Only issue now is the brake line banjo hits the coil at full turn. Going to swap the lines out from each side to see if that fixes the issue.

Still getting my ride height adjusted, but does this look right? Seems like the coil is quite compressed already with barely any preload. I'm using Eibach 750lb 10" springs.

Can Welding Wait?

Hello there,

I’m trying to get all my ducks in a row to do it properly, quickly, but inexpensive…less time in a shop the better I think.

I plan to do all the bolt on stuff with the mounts, bump stops and limit straps and then go to a shop to weld the upper shock tower supports.

I have a stock 2004 XLT FX4
Already have mounts, fox emulsion 2.0 with 10”2.5ID springs.
Need bump stops, limit straps.

Havent heard much about everyone needing to replace the brake line though. Is that a need and what part number? I thought I saw it in here somewhere but can’t find it anymore. ANY suggestions, tips, tricks, recommendations from those who did this is much appreciated.
Thanks!
JB

Your stock brake hose from the caliper to the hard line will be fine, however depending on the age of your truck and climate the stock steel lines might be heavily rusted and once you unbolt the bracket from the frame they will begin to leak.
