it sucks that nothing is available to just buy new. not so much for people like me wanting to put in a maunual t-case but for the guys who got them in their stock trucks and if they were to ever break the bezel its puts them in the same situation as everyone else trying to find one. kind of dumb on ford imo.
as for abs... i learned to ignore the light in the dash and the truck breaks the same as stock but if i jump on the breaks hard the just lock up and i'll slide. its only happened four times so far. once in the rain, once checking out my buddys ranger lol, and twice while reversing down a loose gravel hill. going down the gravel hill in reverse was scary because i didnt even notice that i was sliding and i was heading strait for a cliff! the other time off road i knew it was going to happen so i was prepared for it but its a scary feeling in reverse none the less. doesnt bother me none tho.

And with your leafs from the ifs lift you to now how much lift did you gain? I'm gathering up the last few parts I'm going to need including the trail gear rock assualt housing. And considering you already did the lift is there a way to keep the lift around 4-6 inches max? Just don't want it to high and it looking awkward with 33's.

Prices are high, no doubt, but if you want the ***** go for it.
The boots fit Hurst shifters really nice so if you used two hurst shifters, one on the trans and on on the T/C re-tapped the ***** to the hurst thread you could at least have the boots and *****.
A bezel will take a little searching but there has to be something out there, maybe individual pieces but… the fit will be the main thing.

So I finally got the urge to start working on my truck again! All I've got left to finish is to put my gears in, buy or make a drive shaft, and make my tranny crossmember. Im kind of stuck on how I'm going to tackle the x-member. I've looked at most of the sas threads for pics on what others have done and didn't come up with much of anything. I was thinking about doing something like the camburg tranny member but I kind of want it tucked up and out of the way. Any thoughts/pictures/advice on how to tackle this would be a huge help

Well I picked up my drive shaft the other week. I was really hoping that I was going to get away without making a new Tranny x-member but it doesn't look like it. So in the new year I'm going to make a new cross member and slap the drive shaft in there. Still need new carrier but I'm that's all stuff to get in the new year.

You do good work…
In looking and thinking… add another one of those cross bars towards the front.
Then some connecting bars, frt to bak.
A few more shorter cross bars between the frt to bak bars.
Wham Bam, you have a great HD Cross Member / Skid Plate Mount.
Now make a ¼” steel plate to fit on the area and cover the tail of the T/C and you got it !
Merry X-Mas. LoL -

Haha thnx. I can't take full credit for all the work tho. My buddy who owns the shop is a genius when it comes to fabing. The whole project has been a joint effort tho. We used an energy suspension transmition mount. They dont make one for rangers but we happened to find one that fits perfect. It's far support to the oem replacements. The pics are from my iPhone so I know they suck but I'll post better pics wen I put my gears in. Hopefully next weekend :)
The new tranny mount hangs down less than the factory one

Your method of mounting the ends is the same thing I used to mount the full cage roll bar in my ’82 Scrambler, via Leaf Spring Bushing.
Been thinking of building a Trans/TC Mount Cross Member / Skid Plate Mounting Point when I get the other engine in.
You guys work inspire me to get this going.
Where did you use the Energy Susp Bushings, are they the side mounts ?
How about where the Trans/TC mounts to the crossmember, what mount did you use there ?
What are you going to use for a skid Plate under there ?

As far as road manners go they are decent but for a mud tire they suck in mud, they don't grab if your trying to climb on loose dirt or anything wet, they were alright on rocks but only when they were dry. I think they are a good tire if you are 95% on the road and use them for general trail use but for any kind of seriouse off roading they really are useless. But that's just my opinion, I thought the original BFG km mud terrain was awesome off road. I have a friend who had some 40" mud grapplers and he said they were the best off road tire he's had next to the irocs he has now.
