Im new here and have a question i cant seem to find an answer to. I have a 1995 Ford Ranger XLT with the 2.3l 4cyl and manual transmission. What would be the max amount of HP I can get without blowing the motor or the trans? Thanks in advance and much appreciated..

Welcome to the forum

That's really an unanswerable question, because you included "without blowing the motor or trans"
So to answer that question you would have to blow the motor and the trans, and then you would have a maximum horsepower number, which would be 1 horsepower less that when they blew, lol

Generally speaking most engine or transmission designs would allow for 50% increase in toque and horsepower as the upper limit

1995 2.3l LIma is rated at 100HP so 150HP
Torque is 133ft/lb, so 200ft/lb

The Turbo version in the Mustangs 2.3l did 175HP to 200HP

Transmission in your 1995 is an M5OD-R1 it is rated for 331ft/lb so very safe
