high highway rpm or is this normal

high highway rpm or is this normal

i have a 85 ranger 2.3 4*2 the person before me put 3.08 gears in and i got it and put 4.10s in now at 75 its running around 3200 rpm is that normal or is that to high and im about to make a trip from oregon to Minnesota would it be bad to run it at 3200 rpm for 1800 miles

no that seems normal. if you want to lower that rpm a bit, get a slightly larger tire. (going from a 30 to a 31). the only thing with being at that rpm is you will be using more fuel.

the rpm is fine, and 3k is just getting going for a 4 cyl as far as power goes, you should be right at peak fuel efficiency. pretty sure your going be going over some mountains, unless theres some dead flat way to get there i havent heard of, your going to be glad you put the 4.10 in.
