also, it doesnt do it when i first start the truck.
i start it. drive literally 35 feet. to a light. turn left go another 100 feet. turn left. about about 100feet later it sputters.
So it may be a fuel pressure issue? perhaps when i first start the truck and thefuel pump primes at runs fine but than somehow the fuel psi falls below 30? my truck is supposed to run oem at about 30-40psi textbook.
so im thinking its not the fuel injectors, but rather the fuel pressure regulator or pump. what do you think?

ok, what should i check in the ignition system? lol (Dont worry im not getting confused at all *Scribbles check list)
So far. ive rechecked all wires. all plugs. ignition coils are kinda hard to test. ive checked to make sure no batter or ground lines were loose. checked battery and alt again (as it turns out im an idiot and read my meter wrong. said the same thing but the 0 was on the other side. so instead of only having really low voltage i actually had 13 solid. lol.) made sure no wires were loose. now dead draw on the battery. all fuses in order and relays functioning. spark test in dark. anything i can think of.

try going out there with a peice of sand paper and sanding down all the grounds and places where they contact to make sure it's no getting interupted by paint or rust, and you said you checked the battery leads, did you clean them? to do a proper check of the fuel system you need a guage that hooks into the shrader valve on the fuel rail. it should be around 37 PSI running and about 42 with the vaccum line to the FPR unplugged. i don't reccomed raplaceing anything without doing tests first. just a waste of money! :D
p.s. usually when a FPR fails it leads to a very rich running condition and probably wouldn't show the symptoms you're having. but a failing fuel pump or a partially plugged filter are possibilities.

whenever you replace any electrical crap you need to re-set the computer...

Regarding Engine sputtering
I read your post from page 1 to page 3. It sounds exactly like what my truck has been doing, of and on for about a year. I have changed the timing belt, plugs, wires, ignition coils, MAF, O2 sensor. None of which improved the performance.
The problem has continously got worse until it would hardly run last week. I took it to a mechanic which has a good reputation for troubleshooting electrical issues. In less than an couple hours he diagnosed the problem. It was the ignition contol module. $250.00. I picked the truck up Friday and it is running about like it did when I bought it in '94.
The mechanic told me there were still some codes in the computer which shoud MAF sensor isssues. He said this was common w/ Fords.
You may want to find one at a jucnk yard before you sink $250 in a new one. Hope this helps you. Let me know if this fixes your truck.
