2.3 Coil Pack

Hello, I have a 2.3L dual coil packs. I was wondering if I can relocate the coil pack from under the alternator to a better location. Has anyone done this before and how?

Welcome to the forum

Sure you can, what YEAR Ranger?

The 2.3l coil packs were locate together on one side of the engine and then one on each side of the engine depending on year

You can extend the 3 wires if they are not long enough to reach your new chosen location, won't hurt any thing, I would solder the wires but up to you

So something like this: https://www.justanswer.com/uploads/s...ring_order.png

I think in 1995 or so they changed it to this layout: https://easyautodiagnostics.com/imag...3/image_15.jpg

Might be able to hit a wrecking yard to get a bracket for the later setup

Yes, either layout looks good. I really appreciate you responding to my questions. Thanks
