Hello there i just acquired a 1988 ford ranger shortbed with a manual and a 1987 or 1988 turbo tbird engine. Currently the third gear does not work as i was told it was the linkage, is this correct? its the original transmission that came in the truck. this truck originally had a 2.0 liter engine? would it have been fuel injected? would the fuel pump that came with the 2.0 be up to the job of suppling fuel for the turbocharged engine? or would it have the fuel pump from the tbird engine in it? what other transmissions would bolt up the the 2.3 or require very minimal parts or fab to make it work? could u find one from a v8 mustang from those years? and if the turbo goes where can i find a replacement.
