Two clean, too clean DSG's.
For those who don't know, the wife and I picked up a new (used) 05 F250 this past week. They told me they'd detail it, pretty sure all it did was go through a car wash. There was no evidence of wax on the truck, it was about as smooth to the touch as 2000 grit sand paper. I took the Ranger out flying through some puddles on the trail after one of many giant rainstorms passed through here, so that needed a good cleaning as well.
I got to buy a product I've yet to try by Mothers, it's their Pre-Wax Cleaner. It removes old wax, dirt and oxidation, which is good because my clay bar died in the heat of the summer (it now resembles wet playdough.) I spent about 5 hours total between washing and waxing both of the trucks, looks like it was worth the effort.
Enjoy.
Detailed, my ***.
Shiny... debaged the stealership decal.
Effed up valances seems to be a theme here...
By far, these are the easiest rims I have ever cleaned.
These have been one of the worst rims I have ever cleaned.
No, it's not a used car lot, it's my driveway.

Dark Shadow Grey is an awesome color!
Too bad Ford deleted DSG in '09. The color of my F250 is actually called "Sterling Grey Metallic." It seems to be a little lighter and have a little more brown in it? I parked next to a truck like yours to see the difference. Subtle, but noticeable without too much staring and being weird...

Rock cancer... the previous owner lived in Alaska and New Jersey, so it got alot of rocks shot up at it while driving state to state. As for the scratches in the bumper, not sure where they came from.
