Mods Mods Mods oh my!
so i don't know a proper section for this since there are so many different things i have done, so this will just have to do!
I've had some extra money/time lately (finally) so needless to say, i have devoted it almost all to my truck. got a few things crossed off the list (yes, i actually have a list of things i want to get done) so just thought i'd update on it!
where to start...
Well, I got an OHC at the end of summer, finally got it in and wired and working!
When I first got it it was tan, we all know what an OHC looks like, then I Painted it:
Got me some new LED lights for it! they are the 24 bulb lights, they were half the price of the 36s so i decided to go with them, and thank god i did! these things are BRIGHT! its nice though, you can see everything inside now.
which leads to my next thing i did, you also notice those little white bulbs, they are for my cluster, they are white LEDs to replace my blue LEDs that i have in my cluster. it was a pain not having needles and i wasnt paying the insane prices to get some from the states. so my cluster went from
this:
to this:
here is a comparison from t he blue LEDs i used to have (right) and the white replacement ones I got (left)
but now it wasn't as blue as i wanted, and as you can see, the ODO was green, so, i had an SMD LED strip from superbrights i had planned on using before, so i added that to the mix too
makes a huge difference, as you can see in this video;
Don't know why this shows up as a tail light, but click and its a video of my gages.
Next thing on the list,
got me some L1224Rs and LEDs for my reverse lights.
Stock bulb left, L1224R right. the stock looks brighter in the pic, but they are really about equal in brightness...the L1224Rs are just more red, and have a better reaction time for braking and signaling, so thats a plus.
same thing here, stock bulbs left, LED right, the LED reverse is about as bright as factory, just nicer cos its a nice white color.
Video comparing stock to LED
then i got these in:
mmm...HID :)
6000k heads and fogs, put them in, fogs turned out great, heads only work when the truck is off with lights on. so im waiting on the relay harness for it and hopefully that will fix the problem. apparently it has to do with my DRLs. damn canadian law.
and finally. I cleaned my truck, and got my new flares on that i swapped with FULLSCALE. I took off my 08 DSG flares, and traded him for his FX4 flares. if you haven't seen his thread yet, check it out, they look AMAZING on his truck!
I plan on getting a bumper off an 01-03 with an unpainted lower valance to flow better with my flares, i just needed to break up the DSG a bit, it was too much for me.
I'm done now, i promise haha. now i just need to find time/money for the next step!

for now im just gonig to stick with some 33x12.5s. going to get me some MT MTZs. i want 35s but i have to re-gear and get a tuner so i can fix me gear ratio/tire size so my speedo will work so i'm holding off til next year. as for wheels, im stil undecided, i like the MT SideBiters, and Mt Signature IIs. but the signatures wont be around when i go to get some, and the sidebiters are too glossy for me, so im also debating some ultra rogue 175s
and thanks Ryan. been working on it like crazy to try and get things done before the cold really hits, so i think that the working season is just about done on it :(

I went with the DDM HID kits, i heard lots of good things bout them from everyone here, and they were a great price so i couldn't resist
haha thanks, yeah i got the idea from you, i know you were looking at the 36s but i'd highly advise against it, it would be over kill. the 24s are perfect. they are bright as hell.
thanks for all the compliments guys! It's almost looking how i want it to look. just gotta get new tires/wheels and paint my tool box black (might get it line-x'd) and then it'll just be small exterior mods from there, and engine/suspension/interior of course. those all have a long way to go still.
