Yea i went and bought this saturday, its a 93 Mazda Rx7 R1 touring ed., i paid 13500 for it, but i got one hell of a deal, this car is mint, showroom condition all but. It has 62,000 miles on it, the guy i bought it from had it for 4 years and drove it 4,000miles. its the 1.3 bi turbo with a 5spd behind it. It weighs around 2,500lbs and has 250hp stock. It has hard vaccum lines, downpipe, midpipe, pulleys, and tein coilovers. Im going to take it to the shop soon for a total fluid flush and a tune up. But 3" exhaust, new tires, and new rotors will come soon. When braking at 120+mph i noticed a slight viberation . I also noticed one when cruising at highhherr speeds. But let me tell u this thing is a blast to drive, it handles amazing, rockets off the line, has so much power in 4th and 5th. I baby this thing until i feel comfortably in it. But i went up against my buddies 06 sti and 05(?) 350z, 3rd gear pulls at 60mph, its pretty even until higher rpms then i just pull away, but im just getting started, by this spring i hope to be at 325whp and run 11's in the 1/4, i also want my 0-60 to be knock down from 4.8secs(stock) to 4.0 flat lol

u know whats funny i used to think my truck was fast..

let me know what u think of her..

I used to have a Red 93 Touring until about 2 years ago. Just to let you know they are the ones with the most problems. Also don't do any more mods until you do fuel mods. It's old technology and it can't adjust for mods very well.

Here is mine. The hood was faded because of the heat from the engine. Rotaries get hot!

The car is a 1993 so Mazda wasn't a part of Ford yet.

Looks good, I'd bring it to Mazda to have them compression test it with the special tester for piece of mind.

yep im a ricer now, haha...as far as problems go, i have a complete record of everything done to this car, every oil change and the mods was done by kdr(?) performance, they only work on the mazda Rotaries, i went to the shop and it was filld with rx7's. I didnt just go out and by this car cuz its pretty, the previous owners took good care of this car. I dont kno much about the rotary but, these cars require more upkeep then the average car. If the car was abused it wont last long. Oh i drove this car for 4hrs striaght none stop and it ran cool all day long. Ill get some more pictures of the engine bay and interior up shortly just so u can see the "mintness"

haha guys i hated ricers all my life, im just not one for imports, but this car is something

Always check the oil. These cars burn it on purpose like a 2 stroke. The oil light in the dash is a low oil level light not a low oil pressure light.

Get ready to start fixing it lol. I've heard too many horror stories about the FD's. I can't blame people for the LS1 swaps.

Do not get any kind of open element intake and don't use HKS filters. The heat from the engine bay will overheat the intake temps and the HKS filters break apart at high temps. Also the stock intake is known to pull heat from the intercooler. Any extreme intake temps will cause engine damage.

Look closely at the reliability mods from these sites. If you have any questions just ask. I did a lot of research on these when I owned it.
