Good thing I didnt getmy truck painted last week

My friend offered to paint my truck last week for pretty cheap before he left for college. I declined because I just moved into a house and wanted to get my funds back up. Today, I was on my way home from cashing a check I had nothing to spend on except insurance....The tread comes off the tire while im on the highway. Tire stays inflated...but bent up my truck. Goodyear can go to hell and die!

These were taken after I slowly putted to a tireshop and got another tire....obviously...

Nicely done. All you need is a bit of hammer action, and a new tail lamp.

It sucks, but at least the tire stayed together (for the most part), and you made it to a tire shop without any more trouble.

sucks that happened, but you got lucky, as it could have been worse. friend of mine and I were on I-10 in his 92 f150 and his right rear tire shredded, and the belts messed the whole bedside up and ripped the trim strips off the bed. It was ugly.

Nope...tire wasnt under warranty because previous owner bought them before he sold it and insurance is liability only. So the same friend that was going to paint it is gonna bend it back and figure out a way to remount the supports that were ripped off. But he wont be available until november at the earliest....A couple of my friends said i was lucky too...luckiest unlucky person ever.

LOL @ my new tire...well it is lightly used and i got it for free from a friend, just payed to mount it. It has a bubble in the sidewall...Looks like a baseball is inside it. Someone said they have a set of 17s with good tires that they would sell for about as much as it would cost for a whole new set of tires (got 2 screws in my front drivers side, front passenger is due for a change and my back passenger has a bubble in it now)...So imma go check those out, besides,it would be nice to have an extra set of wheels.

Ive decided Im going to try and fix it myself...I bought this to learn on...If i **** it up then my buddy can help when he comes home from school on break. Not gonna learn much if I run to him everytime something goes wrong.

So I bought the 17"s...two of them still needed to be painted. So I took the two wheels off the back of my truck and just swapped those out for the time being. The back passenger side had a slow leak. So I took it to walmart to take the tires off the wheels that needed to be painted and put one of the tires on the back pass that had a small leak. I make it about 8 miles before I hit a bump, tire goes flat (not quite a blowout).

I took the last tire up to walmart to get it mounted in place of the one that just went flat. They couldnt put the tire on because when the tire went flat, I bent the bead. So I just had them put the tire back on one of the wheels that needs to be painted. Now the back driver's side tire has a slow leak. Im beyond frustrated. So at the moment Ive got my 15"s on the front and on the back I have one painted 17 and one sanded down 17.

So Im just going to go get 3 tires for the 15"s and fix/paint/sell the 17"s...what a freaking hassle.

goodyears are junk, we find at our shop, that they seem to come apart at random times. Some when they are bald and some when they have 1/2 the tire left
