Not to sound like an a$$ but the Jeep Commander is just as capable if not more capable then the Ford Ranger off road. I can say this because I have owned (3) Rangers and now also own a Jeep Commander. I have a 4.7 Liter V8 with 235 HP and 305 LBS/TQ. Commanders also come with the option of Quadra Drive II, which has front and rear electronic limited slip differentials. When off road this is comparable to a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with front and rear lockers.

Just because that particular commander might be a mall crawler doesnt mean they all are. Mine probablly goes off road more then your ranger!

You cant really tell how bad it was.
Bad little swamp creak between the fields, Ripped the plastic thing off the bottom of the Rad, Bottomed it out real bad. and was a real pain to get unstuck because of the hills on both sides. The only person who could pull me was a old Durango with a 318.
