No, I'm not kidding.

They are monsters...
Powerstroke lays down 597RWHP on fuel only (intake, exhaust and tune)

Oh and check this out

08 6.4L F250 Standard Cab, Short bed.

-Stock turbos
-Stock Injectors
-Suncoast Trans & Converter
-Modified HPFP & Rails from Elite Diesel (stock unit, just modified for more flow)
-EGR delete
-Zex 2-stage Nitrous
-Spearco IC
-6" single stack
-HP valve springs (stock wouldn't handle the RPM)
-Spartan Modified Transmission control module (TCM)
-Spartan +310HP tuning
-Street tires, no slicks
-No 4-link or traction bars or anything.. stock suspension

Melt, I'm not kidding. This is what a guy on the local diesel forum had to say about the 6.4L:
Ya, fuel mileage on any of the new stuff with DPF's is horrible. My 08 did 11mpg before tuning and dpf-delete. After tuning and dpf-delete it ran low 13's with only the +250hp tune as a daily driver and getting 19mpg.
The 6.4L is a monster, and if anyone bashes it, they have no idea what they're talking about. A few mods and this engine proves to be a killer with huge potential.

Oh no, a truck was getting engine work! lol
They have been taking the cabs off for engine work on the super duties for a while, it makes it easier.

You guys are right- Ford Super Dutys with the diesel engine many times require the cab to be removed for major engine work. In fact, the 2008+ trucks are supposed to be designed so that removing the body is even easier than the 05-07 model trucks. As long as it's under warranty, I tend to not care too much what it takes to get the job done; however, when the warranty is up, removing the cab adds complexity (and likely cost) to the overall repair such as removing coolant lines and A/C hoses.

It seems a lot of guys get rid of late model diesels around the 100,000mile mark, which just so happens to be the powertrain warranty!

Speaking of oil dipsticks...
The new F150s no longer have a transmission dipstick. Hows that for "lubed for life?"
