They probably didn't make them here because it would cut into the sales of the Explorer Sport Trac (the name explorer sells for more $$) and the F150 crew cab.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure there is a lot of BS with safety standards, emissions, etc...

Word. They don't make as much money on a Ranger as they do a F150 or Sport trac, and Ranger sales would cut into the sales of those 2 vehicles.

The Mexican truck is a 2.3L 4cyl, same 2.3L, and everything else is what I assume is the same....should be the same standards and meet the standards in the US, as of pre '2010.

I'd looooove just to get a cab, front bumper, rear tailgate, and headlamps.

I looked into it, and it seems like more of a hassle buying it and importing it. It is almost impossible to import them. There is a back-door way, as you buy it in mexico, then drive to where you live and file a lost title claim, but i'm not sure that would work...

Not the mexico ranger. They're all 2.3L Gas engines. Everywhere else got the diesel.

Crew cab rangers look stupid imo, and if you want a crew cab just buy a fullsize or a newer tacoma.
