Youkon 4.88s front and rear. Still trying to decide if i should keep the locker for the front. I might eventually get a detroit rear to replace the carrier because i want a locker but I'm not going to just weld the rear.

I would keep the front locker, I think the locker in the front makes a way bigger difference than the rear.

Got the rear put back together today. all new bearings and seals. Didn't even have to reshim. used the stock shims and ended up with 0.009 inches of backlash and had a perfect pattern. I also got the new axle shafts but sk speed ordered me the wrong ones. They are going to exchange them but the right ones won't be here till thursday.

eventually… I want to sas it with the james duff sas radius arms but i might try to make my own to mount to the extended radius arm bracket i have now. otherwise id have to move the bracket back about 8 inches. Im sure ill be sticking with these axles for now or at least until i get bigger tires and start ripping them apart. I wish i would of sas'd it from the start. I thought id be saving myself some work by not.

You definitely saved yourself some work. Once you get the front diff torn out doing the gears should be pretty easy since you have already done the rear.

Hopefully. Only stuff in the back of my truck now is the 4.88s, installation kit, locker, spicer u joints, manual hubs, and ball joints. Once thats done i can start putting the por 15, bedliner, and painting it.

I finally got the right axle shafts for the rear. I tried to use the old wheel studs but they didn't fit tight so i had to buy new ones. Of course i had to go to 4 different auto parts stores because each one only had 2-3 in stock. I slid the axles shafts in and put the c clips in but the pin wouldn't slide through and was hitting slightly on the edges of both axle shafts. I called moser and they said i could grind them down a little so i did and now the fit fine. I am going to Put gear oil in tomorrow and I will be doing the whole front this weekend.

The front end got done between yesterday afternoon and most of today. It was a pain. 4.88s, lock right locker, ball joints, 5-760 u joints, warn manual hubs, and installation kit all done All i need now is an alignment. I don't really have any pictures of the front. I wanted to get it done.

Thanks. It was a pain and I'm glad its done. I was thinking of painting it that color originally. I have a bunch of cans because my uncle has a jets bus and he uses that same color.

I did get to start painting today. I sanded the clear coat down by hand and sanded out the chips and scratches. Took most of the day but i cleaned all the dust off and masked off the windows. I was able to put one light coat on the truck and i will paint the rest tomorrow. i will paint any trim black. The color is rustoleum hammered gray and it looks better in person.

I have a question someone might be able to help me with. Ive been trying to get an alignment for this thing and every place i go to tells me they won't do it unless i get a camber kit. I don't know if its true or not but i thought the stock eccentrics could be moved 3 degrees and i thought you shouldn't get the after market ones because they're weaker. I guess i need to get them but i don't know where from
