He's got some tubing there... I might use some DOM for the steering frame x-member and of course drag and tie rod... But I'll probably use seamed 2" tubing for the rear shock tower and the front shock hoops.
DOM for shock hoops is a lil overkill lol..
So anyone reading this running a LPD44... You guys ran a xj front driveline and ran into no problems? Bolts right in?

pinion angle and such change so much in the travel on a leaf spring truck.
3 link the angles all stay the same and you only need minimal travel since the pinion is always facing directly at the tcase in all travel.

Welp, got the axle back today! He swapped out my 3 series open carrier for a 4 series and set everything up tight. It's great, and he said the ball joints on it were brand new so I took my new ones back!
Anyways tomorrow or saturday I'll start putting the axle back together and have that ready to go for when the build starts and all my parts show up... E, I gotta get you some money hopefully tomorrow if I remember, just text me and remind me lol... Other than Evan's leafs, I'm just waiting on my PSC 17mm fitting, DOM from work whenever a bigger order gets placed so I don't have to pay freight, and my u-bolts and spring plates as well as the right TRE's since TG sent the wrong ones.. Oh and I was supposed to pick up my front hangar today, but the guy left early for his wife's x-mas party for work so I'll be getting it tomorrow..
Luc, do you mind snappin' a pic and posting it of your front driveline? I wanna see this setup you're talking about and maybe a link to the long travel slip yoke? I'm really curious on building it before the swap starts so I have 4wd to go test out in the snow!

Got the axle back together last night, but we found out we're missing one of the hub rings, so I'm gonna pick one up today I think and then it's all ready to rock and roll!
I should have everything needed for the swap by friday if it's all scheduled to be on time... And then possibly start friday night after work!

Got my DOM today and cut my lengths for tie rod and drag link. Tomorrow my rear springs come, I should have my u-bolts and spring plates as well as the right TRE's and maybe even my 17mm PS pump fitting. After work I'm going to go pick up my yota intermediate shaft with the rag joint for $25 and all that'd left is some hardware for the front end at our local hardware store and if its all here and my daily driver I'll be borrowing pulls through for me I just might start friday night after work.
My gear guy said 6° but maybe it's cuz he's used to doing mostly high pinion axles... So set it at 4° max then?
Again, driveline I'm not worried about right away. More importantly is getting it back on the road safely which is why we're gonna take our time; hopefully starting on a friday night and finishing a week later Sunday.

I run all the high pinions at 4, doesnt matter low or high you want that caster to be right. too much caster and it wont steer worth a crap and too little you wont be able to handle it on the road at all. either or you will be steering into the ground or into the sky. thus you want it just right at 4. some axles do like a little bit more but I have had the best luck at 4. Mind you I have setup 5 myself, my D60 will be 6 and I have helped with 3-4 others which i have all told them the same thing.
only way you will get a good driveshaft angle is to cut the Cs. otherwise dont worry about the stupid pinion angle
