Not sure how I missed this when I was quoting stuff... but no, with any luck she'll still be streetable when I'm done. Although I do have a DD and a trailer she can go on...

Sure... not sure how much help I can be with your truck (newer, different fuel system) but I'll tell ya all I know...

Yea, there are a few sleeves in there... there are a few reasons for them, ease of design, my bender isn't level, I'm limited in space with my bender, I screw up a lot less not doing compound bends... there's nothing wrong with sleeves, somehow they got a negative stigma to some people...

Ive seen legendary rock crawler teams use them, but didnt notice that until maybe a month ago. I think its a great idea, especially for the garage builder. I plan on using some...

I was just curious, though...

Yea, more trucks/buggies than not are built with them... it's just odd how it's never talked about... either way it's working great for me!

Well, it was one year ago today (or yesterday depending on how you count leap day) that I started this little project. The initial time frame for completion was something like 8 weeks. It made perfect sense in my head at the time, but now looking back I see how wrong I was.

Granted, I did have the truck drivable for about six months in the middle of all of this but it still wasn't done.

Here's what she looked like, one year ago...

What bed sides? The stock ones I cut off? Those were trashed (literally) like three years ago... the old fiberglass ones were sold to Alon and I don't know what he did with them... So yea...

Don't worry, a plan is in the works with my friends and I... we're gonna ship all our junk to Michigan to play in the dunes there some day (one of my friends has family near there)... may still be a couple years though...

Yup Zach, Gil is right, I dropped it down to weld the top of the cage. All the tubes are welded 360*.

Stock dash is going back in Gil.

I'll be out of town this weekend so work will resume next week, hopefully it will be done soon. And with any luck, I'll never have to test it out.. haha..

cool, I want to see how you end up merging it, I am not happy with my A-pillar bar and in the future I will be re-doing it through the dash...
