Rangererv's SAS thread

i picked up a 79 f-150 d44 and 9 in rear off craigs like little over 3 months ago. been workin on the rebuild of the 44 on spare time since. have a lot of time in this project. pix will show the rest.
june 20th is the teardown date. figured i would finally let everyone see what ive been doing.
pix in order from day one when i brought it home.
EVERYTHING on it had to be rebuild. it was in poor shape, but now its like brand new : )

ya axle is done, but thereis still SOO much more work to get that thing in. im not even 1/2 way done. lol

Good progress Evan. You're seeing just how much work the rest of have had to deal with! Lookin' forward to more updates.

By the way, where'd you get the coils?

what size tires take it those are 15s? but maybe 17s cuz of the rotors?

looks good man..what size coils are those

going to be nice with the radius arms dont see many installs with those other then scotts..

it is a lot of work.
got the coils from bronco graveyard. they are 4 in lift coils for a bronco

lol im not sure whos next for the superlift. couple people are interested but no deff. deal yet. lol
i think i reversed the curse. i didnt total my truck in it. well i still have 20 days to go so knock on wood. t-case is about the only thing i broke during the s/l

what gears are you lookin for? josh from indiana is gettin my axles with 4:56. he's got the 4:10 diff he will prob sell. talk to him.

they are 15x8 wheels not much room at all between the calipers and wheels, but they do clear.

i would love a superlift.......its gonna be really nice thats for sure, must suck walking in the garage and seeing everything sitting there but you still cant do anything......the 20th is a long ways away

I remember D. saying at one point that in a short amount of time the SAS would be just another mod that everybody and their brother has. he said this when asked why he was going the direction he was going with his truck. It's getting there.


Looks good man. I wish I had the time and money to do this. For now it remains but a dream.
