Number 16...it begins...

Well I decided to skip 14 & 15 for now and get 16 running. Here are some pics of how she looked when I got it. I also got 3 good outlaw wheels so if anybody has one laying around drop me a pm. I worked on it for 2 evening so far getting the motor ready to come out. Its all unhooked and ready to pull except the exhaust. I will be using heat on those damn manifold bolts...won't budge! Anyway as you can see from the pics the truck is basically an xl with a 3.slow and 4wd. I think it will make a cool truck with the 4wd and shortbed. I will be doing some upgrades such as adding a/c, a factory cd player, cloth seats and different wheels and tires. I have a good tailgate and bumper when I get around to swapping it. Also the shackles are gone! The fun begins! Here's the pics...

Can't wait to see how this one comes out. What are the plans with it? Front end swap?

All these that you buy for cheap and rebuild are you able to turn a decent profit off them? Especially the totaled ones that need a lot of stuff replace, just doesn't seem you could get more than 3-5k for a totaled truck...

I have been selling the totaled ones(once rebuilt) for 4-4500. So I make a profit but there is alot of labor involved that I don't figure in.

I don't doubt it!! That's not bad though! So long as you have a good spot for parts!

I actually don't end up buying many parts. I just buy parts trucks and use the parts on a few different trucks

It runs! well it ran... it quit after about 5 minutes, just enough time to get the radiator filled up. I still have to figure that out. And has a/c(atleast) under the hood...lol I know I know its dirty under the hood, its on the list.

How did it sound when it ran? Looks like it might have gotten hydrolocked with all that mud under there.

It sounded good but it sounded ok in the old truck it was in. I'm not sure maybe a fuel problem...says 1/2 a tank. Yeah I think it was hydrolocked but haven't tore into the old motor to confirm it. I put the motor out of this one in it...

The maroon truck wasn't flex fuel and I am planning on using the gold cab on the white truck anyway. I want to get this green truck straightened out then I'll do the cab swap.

Bring it up Cody, we can trade. I'm going to sell it anyway. I'll even hook you up with a good tailgate and bumper.

Give me a couple days. I'm off on the weekend. I should look the bed over a little better, I can tell you a few things about it. On both sides you can see surface rust under the flare, no signs of holes or anything but I should probably pull the flares of and check and be sure. The gas door has a bubble on it that could turn into a rust hole. I don't have a bed liner for it (neither truck I recently bought has one). What are you going to do about your fenders. I have a set or two...lol If you want me to paint everything I would only charge you for paint supplies but not a fortune and I probably wouldn't be able to get them done before the weekend.

No rush John. The next weekend I have off is Aug. 29th and 30th. As long as the rust is fixable that's ok with me. The gas door I wouldn't be to worried about because I can pull one from the JY. Its just the fenders I would be worried about. As for you painting everything, that would be awesome. I would be more than happy to pay for paint. About the fenders I am assuming that your talking about the front fenders sence they don't have flairs and the bed does. If you have a set or two I would be more than happy to send a lil extra your way for them.
