you need to make it so the top and side pieces fit together with the inside edges of the plate touching, the welds will be a lot stronger that way.

and yea, I got the 3" ballistic joint and i was like HOLY ****! my buddy has 2.63 TG creeper joints and those things are pretty big.

I thought i heard Poly performance sells tube by the foot, I'm pretty sure BTF does.. and there was another website i just forgot who..

what size are you making it? 2x.250? I saw some 1/4" links get bent to **** this weekend, I'll probably go 2.125x.375" ha

We sell tube by the foot.

And cut those box-in plates back off, narrow them so the 2 peices make a corner ( L ). You will get alot better penetration, and it won't look like **** with the weld protruding past the outside edge.

Im not sure if i will change it again or not ill probably forget to do it but i am going to weld the inside and outside so it will have plenty of weld.
Zach how did you put the arms in the lathe i assume you put the stud in the lathe and clamped onto that?

Im not to worried about bending them if white rhino never bent his and he does way more rocks then i ever will get to do. its mostly trails and mud around here and the dunes off course

Thats what he told people, same as mine 2"od 1.5"id so i am sure i wont bend them if i do oh well
So here is some pics of my one hours work this morning just have to pull the bolts off the radius arm and shes out.
I need some advice from you guys do you think it would be a good or bad idea to weld a tube vertically to my upper coil bucket and then not attach the coil to the top off the bucket so the coil can drop out as much as it can i have seen it done and it seams to work pretty good. kinda like this.

having the tube isnt a bad idea.. its like the bump stop on jeeps to keep it in place when drooping a lot.

i wouldnt, keep the spring retained. the additional flex wont be much, whats limiting you is the RAs, not the coils.

did you weld your trac bar mount right to the frame or onto a piece of plate then to the frame?

Right to the frame but if i did it again i would have plated it but it has held up fine for about a year now.

Thats what i was kinda thinking to but i dont think i would ever have a problem with the coils popping out and i could always get limit straps ya the ra's drop down alot if the axle is going down level but if only one side needs to drop they bind up alot

It "works" but not the greatest angles for the steering it does have a little bumpsteer but not to bad i want to get some 3/4" heims and make my own trac bar to get the angles a little closer
