Oh crap, I didn't even realize this was Grants thread. Sorry man.
I do have a question for Grant if he ever gets on here..
I picked up an empty MTX Thunderform regular cab box. Just like yours. I need a sub for it but if you measure the actual hole, it's too small for any subs I've tried test fitting. Not the cutout but the outer hole, where the outer lip is for the sub. Did you replace yours Grant, or are you still running that MTX?
GB :)

jesus wtf is going on in this thread?
GB - I have swapped in a kicker comp vr i think into my thunderform inclosure. it fit fine. You kind of have to push it into the recessed lip that i think you're having problems with. I still have the original MTX sub that came in it if you want to buy it or whatever. It is known to fit, lul.

Thanks for the answer Grant. It's hard to find a sub that fits the opening like the crappy original, let alone a speaker that is suited to only .6cf The box is quite small. Most speaker manufacturers don't get that detailed when it comes to dimensions either. Making it even harder to find something that fits.

This is true. this is the sub i'm running now. it runs pretty good i think. I tuned it and it sounds awesome. i am not like most damn kids my age who like to drown in bass...i like the bass to compliment the music. I enjoy listening to the lyrics and the guitars and all that jazz. ANyway, it runs pretty well for the size of enclosure and the little amp that is built in.

Weird. maybe someone took it out. Mine has a built in 125Watt amp (i think its 125...) I guess maybe some came empty, idk.
You tune it with the ***** and controls on the outside of the enclosure. Does yours have ***** and sheet on the outside? Anyways, you mess with those until it sounds good. And you can also mess with your headunit so it gives the right sound (like rock, pop, flat, etc. you can fine tone those settings).

Mine has nothing of the sort on it. Only an audio terminal on it. Speaker wire hookup. It's the exact shape and design of box that you posted. I never knew until right now, after a look at MTXs website, that they offer a "loaded" - "unloaded" - and "amplified" version. Who knew?? lol
