OK! FINALLY got the brackets off the leafs and am dropping them at the shop in the morning to be setup. hopin to put them in thursday or maybe tuesday night, we'll see.
put a new MAF in the truck, as mine was giving a rough idle, cleaned and oiled my K&N Filter, and put the heat shield back in the truck. getting closer to ordering the mcneil glass, and then gonna step back and take a look at what i wanna do with the truck from there.
I decided that the fenders are my best bet to start with, as im havent decided if i am wanting more prerunner look, or more lift. i do however know if i go taller, ill get the fenders anyways, so it makes sense to get them first and maybe save some $$$.
Will update when the springs are ready to be installed.
What should i coat them with?? i wanna clean them up a bit before in install them.
also, im guessing i should run grade 8 bolts? or would a softer grade work better?
Let me know please and thanks!

Dropped off the leafs and bushings. I'm picking them up on tuesday at 5, im aiming for install either thursday or sunday, whichever has better weather. so far with bushings, ive got $136.96 invested. all things said and done, ill probably be right around $180
im thinking ill coat them in an tar undercoating spray. any thoughts on this? its flexible and goes on nice.
also my friend im ordering fenders with is just about ready to order, so those will be coming soon! hopefuly brandon at BC can give us a nice deal so i can get more of the guys here in ontario to order also.

so, while sitting here at work, im building the truck in my mind. I feel the need to build a brace or crossmember where the new mounts for the hangers will be. I want to use 1/4" plate that bolts to the inside of the frame rail, and run 2" with a thick sidewall DOM tube across in a bit of an arch type to clear my fuel tank. i havent looked under the bed to see if its possible, but i feel the frame might suffer a sheering effect that id like to avoid. also have one for the rear of the frame, instead of the tire carrier as the support.
also i would want to do something similar for the trans crossmember, as i feel the stock one just isnt up to the job. i saw camburgs take on the issue, and figure i can handle something like that without much trouble. I'm getting to the point where i can see these upgrades helping ALOT with the trucks strength. Anybody have thoughts on them? Im getting to the point where im thinking custom modifications, rather then bolt on. and i know its not a good thing.... lmao.
im so ready to make these orders, just waiting for my moths comission to be cut to me before i blow too much haha. sory for the slow building, i used to dump money into my truck, but realized my savings account is for more then holding money for a week before my trucks mods consume it. :)

As promised, heres my 64's swap and i ended up buying something else thats in now :)
This thing rides like a DREAM. it still needs a few finishing touches, but its 90% done.
no pics of bed removal, but we do have from that point on.
1st leaf out:
Stock ranger 2wd leaf vs chevy 64's. 2.5" difference.
Had a few friends come down to give me a hand!
Grind down the rivets
Hammer it off:
Mocked up the new spot:
Cleaned up the area before coating it in tar undercoating:
First 64 leaf in: i temporairly have the block over the leaf so i can get to work the next few days. new U-bolts and front hanger bolts will be picked up.
NEW SHOCKS! they are 30 extended, 18 compressed. $130 for both :)
first test drive:
And bed install:
Test drive:
total cost was just under 200 for leafs(kit), 130 for shocks. 330 all in. :)
Also greased my slip yoke with moly, and it got rid of all the clunks and noise and rattles isve been having! if you have any driveline noise, DO THIS FIRST.

Idk. I'm torn. I don't want it looking goofy with massive tire poke but don't have the coin to just go all out like Andy's. I'd love to have a street version of his, keep the bed fuctional but have the clearance/travel.
I was thinking of getting the f31's from Deaver with a nice shock and the c/o swap. But idk when I'm gonna do it.

I am happy with the height I have now, it's stiff from the AAL and crank. I have a feeling once the c/o stuff gets purchased, the deavers would also be ordered. I just can't justify it right now. I want out of my shitty apt and to get into a house. I've got 12k and could build an amazing truck for that but cant justify it.
How much rake do you have? That one pick looks really bad (from the install pics).

3" over in the back. but, 2.5 coils up front will help that :)
i would imagine its stiff!
deavers are awesome, i just hope you dont tow, because you wont be able to with deavers. thats why i went for 64's. I carry my 400lbs bike in the back, and needed something that can take the weight like a champ.

April 4th Update
Spoke to BC supertrucks through a friend, and they are working out the details of the fenders. Mcneil is making a race body now, so our order will be on the back burner for a little, but im told next weekend is a pretty good time frame. from the sounds of it, they will be a great deal.
gotta thank Cadger for the u bolts and shackle bolts hes got for me, a life saver for sure!
Also wanna report that these rs9000's are amazing! i run them on #1 setting (soft), and they are perfect. pothole dirt roads feel like the highway, couldnt be happier. getting more and more excited for this summers events. Im really debating the 2.5 coils right now. I want to have them on the truck, but im not sure if i want to spend the $$$. Im thinking canuck motorsport control arms, and camburg coils plus the 2.0 shok upgrade kit and maybe a set of fox's. or, bolt the fenders on, see how it sits and maybe say ---- it!
too many options, too much money, too much fun! Ill see if i can find anything to keep myself entertained between now and next week, might see some motorcycle mod's posted up. im like interceptor, just cant leave something stock.
