Buy it. The motor looks like it came with it from the factory. Ford should put the 5.0 in the ranger in 2011

yea, no price just something that says he dropped 18k into it.

that is the way ford should have had it as an option.

i also agree, they should have put it in the last year ranger. if they can cram it into an adrnaline sport trac, they could make it fit in a ranger.

That is a lot of money to put into a moderately equipped ranger. He needs to go with leather bucket seats and a full length center console with a read out display for the explorer.

Facepalm.

You have NO idea what you are talking about do you?

That is a ****ing sick ranger. I like it the way it is. Looks like a 2wd ranger with some rims. A good tasteful and clean sleeper IMO. If I had the cash, I would fly down there and drive it back up

Did you actually look over the options, or just blow your load on the v8?

• Bureau of Auto Repair (B.A.R.) Legal V8 Small Block Conversion. 17 MPG in town and runs on 87 Octane Fuel.
• 331ci Stroker engine
o Forged Steel Crank.
o Lightweight I-Beam (Cap Screw) Rods
o Forged Pistons.
o AFR 185 heads with 2.02/1.60 Stainless Valves. Heads have been CNC ported and flow tested.
o Blueprinted and Balanced engine block by Nathan Gerolamy at Horsepower by Gerolamy.
o Cylinder block has been torque plate honed, line bored, parallel decked.
o Comp Cam Roller cam.
o Roller timing chain.
o Roller Rockers.
o Torque Monster Headers.
o Custom 3” Exhaust System.
• Brand New 4R70W Automatic Transmission.
Dyno Tested at wheels and made 305hp/318ft/lbs of tq. For over $18,000

• Power windows. (stock)
• Power door locks. (stock)
• Air conditioning. (stock)
• Cruise Control. (stock)
• Power Steering. (stock)
• Slider Rear Window. (stock)
• Tilt Wheel. (stock)
• 6 Disk In Dash CD Changer. (stock)
• Trailer Tow Package. (stock)
• Aluminum Driveshaft. (stock)

• Edelbrock IAS Shocks. (upgrade)
• 18"x9" Saleen Wheels with 275/40/18 NItto 555 Tires (upgrade)
• Line-X Bed Liner. (upgrade)
• 4.10 Posi-Traction Rear end. (upgrade, maybe)

So it is an awesome engine. Respectable wheels and tires, a spray in bed liner, and maybe some upgrades to the rear axle. But it is possible it is still the stock rear end. Given the power out put of the engine he should have upgraded to an explorer 8.8 with disc brakes. he doesn't even mention traction bars so it is very likely this tuck could have issue off the line.

You are certainly entitled to you opinion. But you don't know if you have the cash because he didn't even post a price.

other than 31 spline and disks the 8.8 is the same axle as the exploders have. Oh and what about those people who have superchargers and turbos they use pretty much stock rear ends maybe upgraded gears and they put out atleast 305hp

Also just look at the truck it looks brand new... Thats what is looked for in a swap, that is what would make it into a magazine if there was one for a ranger... Look in euro tuner when guys do swaps, they make them look like the car was bought at the dealer brand new in that condition.

Sure traction bars would be nice but 305hp i really dont think you would have much problem with it with just the L/S in it, unless its raining out or your on loose gravel.

Also the engine itself makes the truck perfect, and its a perfect sleeper

Btm757,

The 305 HP is at the rear wheels and it is an automatic, so he is putting out more like 350-360hp at the crank. A 4.0L Ranger with an explorer express supercharger, headers, and dyno tuned gets about 300HP at the crank. And the ranger that I saw this done to was an Fx4 with a 31 spline rear end.

It is a ranger, NO amount of exterior or cosmetic modification is going to make someone think it is fast. Which I will also point out this guy hasn't even posted quarter mile times.

So because he hasn't posted quarter mile times means it isn't fast?

I made no claims to it being a sleeper or that he would race it

But running a quarter mile or 0 to 60 to 0 is something that is often established on a performance vehicle. I made that statement because I have a feeling it won't be that impressive given he will have traction issues with the amount of HP he has.

My whole point is that the truck is unfinished.

Not quite. That fact that he chose a ranger makes the truck a sleeper. Noe is going to pull up next to a ranger and think. "Oh NO, its a 2wd xlt ranger, what am I going to do?"

I think he didn't post quarter mile times because he either didn't run it, or it isn't that impressive give the HP and moeny put into it.

I have no issue with anything that has been done to the truck, I am only saying that there is more that needs to be done.
