Hi, I'm new here, but I'm looking for a 2 wd 4 cyl auto ,or std ranger for my
G/S .He has around 3k to spend.
Looking for a vehicle in Ga or S.C.
This will be his first vehicle . Between the 2 of us he has decided on a ranger.
Thanks,

I'd highly recommend looking for something with a 3.0 or bigger. A 4.0 is the best engine for a Ranger. The 4 cylinder has hardly any power, and doesn't really let you do anything with it. Even the 3.0 Vulcan V6 has a hard time.

Too each his own. I've had a 2.5, 2.9, 3.0 and 4.0 over the years and the only one I've been disappointed with is the 3.0. My 2.5 with 4.10 gears is a peppy little thing for hardly any power and I get 25+mpg. The 4.0 is more fun to drive but nothing wrong with a 4 cylinder.

I got your truck!

2000 Extended cab with 4 doors. White with step side bed. 3.0 V6 Ford vulcan engine. Non Flex Fuel. Good power, solid truck. Has some minor issues: needs new tires and shocks all around, steering is squeeky (seems easily fixable), and the odometer doesn't work. Truck has about 180,000 miles, but ODO reads 162K. About 50,000 miles on rebuilt engine. Engine is very sound and runs great. Runs like new. Clutch was replaced when engine was replaced. No leaks that I'm aware of. Good plastic bedliner. Paint is good but has some rough spots on the hood. Interior looks OK, a couple rough spots in the seats. AC works and blows cold. Factory CD and Cassette player, both work. $3700.00.

Send me an email through the forum if interested. I'm located in middle TN, and willing to meet you half way.
