I purchased this Ranger in 2008 with 72,000 miles. It has been a fantastic truck for the past 9 years, until it overheated about 4 months ago. There is rather severe coolant and oil crossover/mixing, so either a blown head gasket, cracked head, or cracked block, I'm not sure. No smoke in exhaust. It will likely need a new engine put in. It ran and drove daily up until the point at which it was parked, with no check engine light, and always passed smog.

I planned to keep this truck forever, and took care of it up until the engine went out.

What is wrong with it, what does it need?

Needs a new engine. Due to the type of failure (oil contamination of coolant), it may need a new radiator and heater core as well.
Drivers window actuator closes hard at the top position. Still functional.
Minor dent above drivers side rear tire from previous owner
Minor dent/bend in rear bumper
Some rock chip paint damage on hood, and a gouge on front left corner near turn signal
Everything else works and looks perfect.

I spent six weeks searching daily for this truck before I found it back in 2008, and I've spent the last two months searching multiple times daily looking for another (of any year) and coming up very empty handed. As much as I love the Ranger, I couldn't find one in my searching, so I gave up searching.

You will not find another 4 door Ranger like this. The four door version accounts for probably fewer than 1 in every 10 rangers, and you will not find another one this nice. If you are willing to put an engine in it, this would be a great truck again.

I know this truck is worth near what I'm asking. The tires alone are worth $500. If you're going to ultra low-ball me with your offer, don't bother, I'm not interested.

I have a good battery for it that is included. It will likely start and drive, but I wouldn't recommend it, as engine damage may ensue, and it will overheat. I recommend having it towed from its current location.
