1996 Ford Ranger for $6000 located in Canada - Saskatchewan.
Category: Clean Title
Status: Domestic
I have a 1996 Ford Ranger for sale, in Canada - Saskatchewan.
Mileage: 195000 km
Engine Size: 4.0l
Asking price is $6000
Spring is coming and I have other projects, so the Ranger has to go. Here is the stats:
1996 Ford Ranger
4.0L V6 with headers and an exhaust system (not finished, but I will include the tips and Y-Pipe)
Auto Transmission
Electric Shift Transfer case (just put in new synthetic fluid)
One Piece Driveshaft instead of old two piece
Fully Rebuilt Diffs:
Back is a Ford 8.8 with master rebuild kit (less than 6000kms ago, probably more like 5000kms), Yukon 4.56 gears, lockright locker
Front is a Dana 35 with Warn manual locking hubs, Stonecrusher steering, welded u-joints, upgraded U-joints (5-460X or something like that, the stronger than stock ones), open diff
Suspension:
3 inch body lift
4 suspension lift
6 in lift coils
Extended shackles
315/75/16 Treadwright mud tires (near 100%), 16x8 Dick Cepak Rims
Shiny things:
Pushbar
Toolbox (needs polishing, will include aluminum polish and powerball)
Step Bars
Misc upgrades:
2005 Fender Flares
Box Liner
Top of box cover things
BBK 66MM throttle body
Just replaced the head gaskets (did not blow, it was preventative maintenance), valve cover gaskets, lower intake gasket, upper intake gasket, header gaskets (Felpro, not more leaks) oil, etc.
Can include a Sirius Satellite Radio
Filled in the gaps from the body lift with puckboard
Steering wheel cover
Deck, 12 inch sub, amp
Aftermarket Headlights and Taillights
HID's in the front
Transmission filter
Extended breather lines (all of them)
Synthetic fluid everywhere
Body:
Front end conversion
The front end has been converted to a 2001 Edge Front End. My favorite style. The hood, fenders, etc have all been swapped on and repainted. The fog lights have not been hooked up.
The mirrors are also from the 2001.
Professionally repainted
Probably many other things I have forgotten
The bad:
The steering is not tight. This may be due to a bad rag joint or could just be because it has big heavy 35 inch tires on a Ranger
In the transmission a solenoid is sticking which causes it to flare between 2-3 shift. A common problem. Also it is slow to engage sometimes so if you put it in D or R it takes about 2 seconds to engage. However if you put it in 1 or 2 you will take off right away. This will probably steer many people away from it, but really it is more of an annoyance than a real problem, everything else in the tranny is in good shape, bands, etc.
I would fix these things but I need the money and want to move on to something else. Anyone mechanically inclined can fix it up to tip top shape for not that much money....or swap in a V8 ;) It’s a great vehicle for someone who wants to have something to tinker with but still drive, I used to daily drive it up until I got a different vehicle.
No trades!
