04+? cluster. all black face w/ silver fx4 needles LV NV

put the fx4 faceplate in my truck. but didnt wanna mess with the needles and possibly mess them up so i left these in the fx4 cluster.

looks like it was for a manual truck, there is no gear selector in it.

but that can easily be changed as far as i know..

also willing to paint the faceplate if you'd like.

i think that it would look good ALL silver. wish i woulda thought of that for mine before buying the fx4 cluster.

50 shipped

15 extra if you want me to paint it. any color that is produced my duplicolor.

for 25 extra i'll tape off everything but the rings that go around the guages and paint those in any color of your choice. but it'll cost extra for the extra time and care needed to tape everything off.

Dude - taking off the needles and working with the 04 clusters are much easier than the older ones.

Have you seen my video tutorials?

Does the FX4 have silver rings?
I'm assuming the mileage on the 04+ odometer is kept in the ECM ???

The SJB and ECU are married through software to the cluster. You can you his "pretty parts" on your cluster though.

I believe those clusters were only used on Level II's. Its also super easy to swap the needles. I always hated the idea of swapping needles but it was the only way to get the Level II stuff into my truck. What I did was put the needles all the way down until they hit their stops. I then put a piece of tape right where the needle lined up on the gauge face. I used a fork to pop off the needles on the clusters and installed the new needles so they were right on the tape when I pushed them back down. This method worked great for my swap. Then I traded my truck for an F150 FX4 so I didn't have to worry about modded clusters anymore. :)

The gear selector can be swapped as well.

The only difference between his cluster and mine is that I have black circles at the bottom of the needles and I have a automatic cluster. I like the silver ones better, but I would want the silver rings too if I was gonna go through the trouble of swapping things out.

Oh ... btw... What does SJB stand for? I'm assuming ECU stand for Electronic Control Unit.

What's the difference between a FX4 faceplate and a regular faceplate?

You can use any cluster parts you want as long as you keep your factory cluster circuit board.

SJB - smart junction box
ECU - Engine Control Unit

I really don't understand why you always go into any cluster/led/lighting thread trying to make yourself look superior. Yeah your work looks pretty good but just stfu. If someone didnt swap the parts YOU would of swapped who cares? Not everybody is like you, wanting to spend time, risk breaking parts they don't intend on breaking. It's ok that Tyler has a nicer, more respectable and less ricer looking truck than you. Trying to nurture him to follow your views isn't going to work on him, or so I hope.

I know the FX4 cluster has the silver rings ... lol
Someone started calling it a faceplate and that was confusing.
I'm also wondering why Tyler didn't just paint his black rings silver. Would that have been too much work?

well theres a faceplate that goes over the guage faces.

and yeah, i would've just painted them myself if i knew how easy it was to get out, but im happy with what i got. plus if nobody buys this cluster, i'll attempt to mod it and see if im successful haha

Well, If you're successful, I might buy it from you.
I'd like the rings to be painted FX4 silver.
