ice frozen parking brake
my parking brake stuck today. it some times does this but this was the worst its ever done. i had it one for 5 mins just to warm my truck up. when i went to leave truck wouldnt move when the brake was off. usualy just give a lil gas and it brakes free. today i had to lock the 4x4 and rock it back in forth in first and revese. i could only imagine what this is doing to my clutch and gears and stuff. any way to prevent this? also i think my cable needs replaced. the pedel gets smashed to the floor and it still some times wont hold the vehcal and theres not more ajustment

sounds like you need the shoes replaced...before i had mine done the pedal would be against the floor and it would barely hold my truck....and ive had to switch into 4wd to release the parking brake a couple times..replace the rear shoes/hardware and lube any moving parts

Rear brakes may be out of adjustment also. I use my parking brake all the time, I've never had an issue. On my other truck I use it intermittently and that seems to cause issues.
