Sweet deal on cathode tubes

I was ordering a new inverter for my off-road angel eyes project, and noticed that the site was having a great sale on cathode tubes.

I picked up two, but after seeing them, I'm going to get more. Nice bright white light. Quick startup, runs great on 12 volts. I wanted to pass this along to anyone considering adding some lights to their trucks or in their PC.

I also picked up the rocker and molex kit (only 50 freakin cents!) which makes it a snap to add the lights to my computer.
I'm going to use them with an old PC power supply I have to illuminate the space under my work desk. This will make it easy to see when I work on my computers. Yeah, I'm old, need light, can't see

I'm not sure where to add them on the truck, and that's why I posted here.
They are sealed plastic, so outside shouldn't be a problem. I was considering under the sides to illuminate the side steps, or maybe as a front license light.
Anyone have suggestions?

Cold cathodes are like mini florescent lights ( I think). It's another form of cold light, like the kind they use for the EL wire and EL panels. Same thing you use for the EL guage overlays. Good bright light, but I don't think it's as strong as neon. For that you need to ask the folks at the site. I'm guessing that some of their products could be as bright, but I'm not sure. My EL wires give off a good light, but it's not very bright. Looks good at night, but totally washed away during the day.

I have cathodes in my truck, a whole cheaper than neons and a whole lot brighter in my opinion, I'll be buying more soon. I love them.

Goto compUSA (or Fry's electronics) and you'll find generic cold cathode kits for about the same price, if not cheaper. Just any cheap electronic store. (i.e. not best buy)

I rechecked the ad, and it's now changed. It was $3 for the cold cathode and inverter, but now it's $2 for just the cathode. The inverters are $5, so you can probably get a better deal elsewhere. It was a good deal when I posted it, should have bought more.
