How long has it been that way? Don't want to leave it like that too long, you will wind up causing the bed to rust. A real system will really not do you any good except give you looks. Only trucks that will benefit from a real system are those that have true dual exhaust from stock, or if you totally redo say an F250 which is single exhaust. The Chevy 3/4 tons come with a true dual set up stock, but GM routes the two inlets into a giant muffler which exits to a big single. A friend of mine who has same truck as mine did his exhaust on his 3/4 ton in a T-304 SS true dual and it sounds really bad ***. When you take a Mustang engine 5.0 HO they come stock with true duals, take away the restrictive kitty's and they sound really good! Ford once made a concept ranger with a 5.0 back in late 90's but never did it make it too the production line as an option. Can't tell you enough how much better having the 5.0 vs the 4.0 in the ranger is. I catch everyone off guard as my ranger is a sleeper to all with the 5.0.

Looks similar to the "I got suckered into buying an e-fan" aftermath......LOL
And as for the stacks, it's your truck, but for the love of GOD, don't do it!!!!

nothing says redneck like stacks on a gasser.
a couple of my metals students put stacks on their trucks a couple years ago - one was a chevy 1/2 ton - with 4.3 v6. i laugh every time i see that truck now.
and not to stereotype - im pretty much a redneck too, but i would definitely not do a stack unless it was a deisel.
but i have to admit, those 78 lil red wagon dodges looked pretty cool with the stacks on.

Holly fvck so much hate lol I am puttin stacks on one of my trucks just because I want to and I ran out of other creative ideas to do exhaust. I think to myself Do I really wanna be another ranger with the exhaust running out in front of the rear tire =/ I even had a set up that had dual tips and I still hatted it cause it was just drab. I vote stacks cause people love to hate them. heres mine and yes it is a lowered truck too a 6/7 drop to be exact

Well I do believe in my state that stacks will not pass the states inspection if they are put on a pick up truck or any other non 10 wheeler truck. There is a person who I frequently see driving on route 31 in Clinton township NJ who has stacks on his 3/4 ton, but he has a duramax, so it sounds real good!
