Single cab on extended cab chassis

I was thinking about swapping over my extended cab with a single cab ,chopping the 2 boxes and welding them together to make a nice longer box ,single cabed 4x4,was wondering about the wiring issues hooking up the 4cyl single cab 2wd to the 4.0l 4x4

The in cab wiring should be relatively the same you may have to adjust the tach if yu have one i know v8s require you to move a pin to a different location in the harness but idk if the 4cyl is different from the 6 the only thing you may be lacking in the 2wd cab is the wiring for the 4x4 switch and controller which can easily be added from the other truck or you may have it my 4x2 has the blank pigtail behind the radio you just have to splice in the controller. But since you have a complete 4x4 to pull from you have all the parts you should need to be fully functional.

The one thing i forgot to ask though how far apart are the trucks in age? You may run into problems if they are different generations.

I can't wait till the weather gets better to tear into this project ,I'm either gonna have a ausome super long box ranger or render the truck useless lol ,but it seams pretty straight forward ,the only difficult thing would be building the bed ,I'm not gonna touch the rest of the truck till I get around any figment issues with the new fab bed

you guys know that the ranger long bed single cab is just a single cab on an ext cab frame. find a long bed, swap cabs and youre done. it all might even bolt up who knows.

yes ! the 2007 ranger was offered with the single cab , long box option

personally i would locate this vehicle and purchase it , instead trying to do what you are intending
