has anybody ever thought of building a pvc roll bar for there truck just to mount some lights on , would it be cost free way to a cheap roll bar, or would it be just a waste of time and money

 

id just go to the junkyard and find a rollbar. they sell them pretty cheap like 70-80 bucks. you can always repaint it.

any bolt in roll bar will not help in a roll over unless it is linked to the frame

 

he only wants it to mount lights on, not to help in a roll over... like said above those "real" roll bars you buy are not effective at all in a roll over because theyre not connected to the frame...

i still wouldnt trust it..i mean what if your trailing and u hit a branch ...your whole roll bar would be gone lol...i also think if u hit some pretty good wind it will start flexing a bit...and IF it breaks,there will be a possibility of it snaping and hitting your truck,causing it to scratch the shiat out of your paint and possibly denting it..i would pay the extra 100 bucks or whatever it cost and get a decent light rack..paint and fixing some dents will cost way more then your PVC roll bar lmao

in this case a pvc roll bar woiuld be better because its not going to destroy your lights or tear the bolts out of your bed...

pvc, even for just lights will more than likely look like crap!

 

PVC roll bars look awesome with Cardboard fender flares.
