Lowered or Lifted
#54
Yea yea...chicks driving lowered or lifted trucks...were hot either way. LoL
Yea... I really want to lower it ... thinkin about it though, bagging it just isn't realistic for me as far as money and time.
I'm not sure if I can get it as low as I want it, kinda seems like that torsion bar is gonna screw me up.
So do I try and lower the truck I have or do I sell it- make some money- & get something thats easier to lower.
But just to throw it out there- lifting it isn't out of the question.
I love both styles. If I did lift it, I'd like to do it like Korey89/rideabikenick/Drayke.(those ones stand out in my mind-right now)
BTW- nice trucks guys. Love that look

I love my truck It's my first vehicle I know that thing inside and out. What it's been through
and even better the things that it's never been through, I've work 5 hard years to make the payments, it's already got a system in it and 5/7 sounds good.
It would kinda suck to get it paid off, to just turn around and sell it.
I just need to see some pics and find out what its like from some guys that have a setup like my truck and have done the flipkit and drop coils.
I've heard about the lowering keys and removing the block I just don't think thats gonna be enough
So anybody with my setup or if you know what it's like.
I'd love to see what you've got, what you put into, and definitely need to hear about how it rides.

yep. a 90's ranger will run you under 4 grand and you could sell that truck for alot more than that. systems are easy to move just pull all the wiring and reinstall it in the new one.
you wont find many people with tbars that are runnng a flipkit and drop coils soley because T bar'd trucks are ususlly jacked sky high
edit : forgot to mention you have to get drop hangers or do a hanger flip to achieve 7 inches in the back

Lowering kit:
Some people spend hundreds - even thousands merely to lower their car! Some people even cut their springs - that is the wrong way to lower a car! Why bother with different bolt sizes and components, when KaleCoAuto's do-it-yourself lowering kit is a mere four piece kit! Installs in minutes, just insert one per tire and you'll be the envy of every lowrider in town! Now available in standard, chrome, and gold.
$19.95

no, it only comes in a four piece kit so far. I heard the company is still doing some research so that they can apply this idea to a dully and maybe even a semi-truck one day.....but that is only after years of research
sorry to jack the thread, but I couldn't resist!!

So today my boyfriend tightened my torsion bar which gave me about an 1 1/2"
and since I haven't done anything to my truck in 2 years, that little bit made a
big difference in the look and the ride. I freakin love it.
I have decided not to throw a bunch of money into lowering my truck.
As soon as it's paid off my beast is getting a lift and thats that....
But I'm still going for the clean look on the street.
Now to figure out... how much of a lift and do I get new wheels....so on and so on.
LoL Being a woman...I have a tendency of being so d*mn indecisive

Bodylift = ~$250-280ish
Wheels = ~$400-500 for 15" and 16"
Tires = ~$700-900

As on your first post for entering.. I can honestly suggest a Bodylift, and 33's if you want something on the low pro, a bodylift has a million good reasons to do - and most of them include spark plugs, more engine bay room, and not changing the full COG of the vehicle. 33's fit perfectly on it, and it helps give your truck a ncie mean stance if you have some nice wheels to match it :-)
Bodylift = ~$250-280ish -Not to bad, but not to sure I want to do a body lift.
Wheels = ~$400-500 for 15" and 16" -Might pass on wheels I've got 16" stock
Tires = ~$700-900 -I am gonna need new tires soon enough
Though it seems a bit expensive now because I'm broke, probably nothing compared to lowering it.
Lift...Lift...Lift
Definitely not to be mistaken for a bro hoe

beams - 80
flipkit - free
2/2 drop - cost me like 30 bucks + lunch
street tires - 400 instead of 800
BAGS are a totally different story. thats where it gets f'in expensive

It will cost more to lower it right, and if your going to lower it you MUST go all the way. Just a little drop wont do it, get bags, and lay some frame girl!
On the other hand.. with lifting it, just a little lift is fine, and so are big lifts. The hieght really doesn't matter. But not with lowering. If your going to lower, its got to be all the way....
