Is it ignition switch problems or something else

O2 ranger 3.0
It started with the left rear blinker stopped working I heard like a buzz sound 2 separate times when I used the left blinker then the left rear blinker stopped working, a few months go by and now I went to start it up drove and a few seconds later my radio lost power then it shut off I can turn ignition switch and warning lights come on but are dim and it just clicks a few times then won't even click anymore I can jump it off and it will start but after a few seconds the rpm gauge stops working and radio loses power then it runs rough and shuts off then if I try to start it again it just clicks and then nothing I have noticed that the ignition switch would turn some but the key would not if you don't turn the ignition and key at the same time that's why I'm thinking it might be the ignition switch

Welcome to the forum

Test battery voltage first, after it sits for at least an hour after driving it, overnight is even better
Key off
12.3v to 12.8volts is required in a car battery at rest
12.2v or lower means battery is done, they should last 4 to 7 years depending on battery quality
2002 Ranger should be on its 5th battery with 5 year average

Also test battery after starting engine, should now be 14+ volts, that means Alternator is working, if its in the 11-12volt range then alternator is not working
Bad battery can kill an alternator and a bad alternator can kill a battery, just FYI, so not uncommon to have to replace both, unless you catch a problem early

The key is in the ignition cylinder, the actual ignition switch is under the steering column above brake pedal

Simple diagram here: https://www.camaros.net/attachments/...ly-gif.271913/

When you turn the key a gear behind the key is also turned and that slides a rod inside the column, actuator rod, and that rod is what slides the ignition switch into its 4 positions, ACC, OFF, RUN, START
If turning the Key "feels funny" then its most likely the key cylinder is failing not ignition switch

Under the dash on drivers side will be a Blue Flasher Module, its clipped on to the metal cross brace, that unit will make a buzzing noise if voltage is low or it's failing
This Flasher does both turn signals and 4-way emergency flashers but 2 different circuits

It looks like this: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/MeMAA...R/s-l1200.webp
