gas mileage uppers

2.3 4 banger in a 3700 lbs truck is not a good combo, I know I bought one. I picked up about 2 mpg with a K&N air filter on my 07 XLT. Keep it lean, don't keep it full of extra weight from something you may need to use some day, I've heard that an increase of 100 lbs is a loss of one mpg in any car or truck.

PS: My truck is helllllla sweet.

Incorrect. I had my tires inflated to 45 PSI when I bought the truck. I used them about 45K miles (bought truck with 40K, tires were not new when I bought it either, sold tires at 84xxxK). Then I sold them for $125 as they had enough tred left for winter use. Saved me fuel and I recouped some loss on tires...I got BFG's but wish I would have got Yoko Geos or Cooper ATR's for better mileage. Got brand new BFG's for $380 at a tire sale

everyone is very closed minded i understand alot of additives dont work but there are a few that do thats what i want to know about .........
everyone well most on here think this is a competition and i dont understand that if i wanted speed i wouldnt use a ranger if i wanted to go in the woods a ranger wouldnt be my choice either im asking """"""""what anyone has done to up the mileage""""

Re: Fuel mileage savers. I dumped my Hefty chick and switched to an anorexic filipina chick! Saving a lot of gas! A bonus, my dinner bills are cut in half too!

P.S. Am I a poser cause I don't own a ranger anymore and I think you're an idiot?

The only reason why you get better economy than my car is because it runs on alcohol.
On 93 octane I've gotten 28mpg highway: That's better than the 24 highway on the sticker but with the size turbo I have I need to make a conscious decision to spool it, which makes it easy to get better mileage.
Not to mention that my built titanium and billet bottom end has higher compression than stock which helps my mileage too (oh wait, you said "junk parts"?)

I get about 23.... and thats not me being easy either.. I did the fuelly website thingy. All I do is run Lucus fuel system cleaner and Ill spray my TB and intake with CRC. Id imagine I can squeeze about 24-25 out of my 3.0 on a good day with going down hill, hardly on the throttle.

i really care what anyone thinks, i want to know what people did to help with mileage im sure this was a very very very hard question for you to understand ....btw im sure it looks like a pos but then again i felt the same bout ur mom so opinions vary

[QUOTE=Jp7;1707745]I average 21/22 with my 3.0 OHV engine, and 25/26 with my 2.3 DOHC engine, both 87 octane mostly highway miles.

LOL This is the greatest post ever on this site!
Seriously, I am having a bbq on the Sunday before labor day at the lake, you should come. I need to meet you!
I’ll even pay for your gas! It shouldn’t be too much with all your fancy Fuel “Uppers” that you bought from JC Whitney and or the ACME Corporation.
